How many times have you seen people lose most there stack and are left with a BB or 2? It happens often. How many times do you see them come back? Not often. The odds are against them, but they chose to leave the odds against them.
You see it all the time, people who are on the dealer button who just lost most there stack and then going all in with 8 4 offsuit and horrible hands like that when they can see another 5-6 hands and chose which one to go all in on.
Let me tell you what just happened to me. I was playing at VC poker with 10 people at a table. I had pocket 10s and was against one other person. Flop came 6 8 9 rainbow. I checked, she went all in. I thought it was fishy and I knew I had an overpair and a gutshot draw. I called. She turned over AJ. She hit an A on the turn and won the pot. I was left with about 600 chips and the blinds were at 50/100 (we started with 1500 chips). 10 people were still at this table keep in mind. Time went on, I got horrible cards, seriously horrible cards, but I remained patient. the blinds got to 100/200 and I was at 130 chips. I had 1 more hands to see before I was all in on the BB. I had K9, I decided this was the best hand I was going to see in the next 2 hands so I went all in. I won the hand and won 800 and something. Next hand I got 99 under the gun. I figured I'd gamble and go all in with it. I went all in and and had 4 callers, making a pot of 3200 and something. I figured I was gone now. Flop came, there was heavy betting, and 3 of them went all in. One turned over A10, the other turned over KJ, the other turned over AQ. OH MY GOD. NO ONE HAD A PAIR! They all missed the turn and river, and I received 3200 chips. I placed 3rd in the tournament.
Ok, you won't always get idiots to give you chips so easily, but I think you get the point in my story. Never give up, no matter how many chips you have. If you have any chips left and a few hands yet to see before you BB, don't be afraid to fold horrible hands. NEVER GIVE UP!!!
wow u got more than 5x ur money, u were really lucky man.
I know we should never give up until we are out, but sometimes if i have had a terrible beat i just loose the passion. I cant play anymore i feel anxious and i want to quit that crap game and do any other thing. And even if i continue trying my best i dont think im going to get that lucky very often. Because most of the time maybe u can manage to double up but u still have something like 10 bb and u really have to get some luck to continue on the tournament.
HAHA wow. I can't tell you how many times that I end up with AA while shortstacked. Most of the time going all in is enough to bait the chip leader that is trying to knock ur short stack out or multiple people will call if ur lucky!
I agree, never ever give up and cal anything.I recently won a poker tourney and I was down to 250 chips midway through a tourney. Most people would have gave up right then.I held on and came back in just about 20min,just playing the hands i usually play.I went on to win the tourney,I just wasnt ready to quit playing. That just shows its not over, til you give up in your mind.
ok u have all managed to come back but that happens once a month maybe, i think thats way too much.Sometimes i just feel like giving up, ive come back a long way too but thats not about your game, u have to get lucky.

One of my biggest poker strategies is to never give up. I come back from large deficits daily due to confidence and smart play. Yes you need luck, but you also need to know your odds, your position, and your players. Mostly luck, but luck is everywhere in poker no matter how you look at it
Honestly, you can really comeback from any huge deficit in poker. You just need to play it correctly. If you just go all-in with any cards, obviously you just gave up and got knocked out. But if you wait, and know who you can get a call from, who's the blinds, the aggressive players and all that, you can really actually take advantage of beeing short stacked, and maybe triple up.

I know its rather rare, but I have made comebacks from as short as 5 chips. I folded 6 hans before I called the first hand, ended up at app. 1200 chips before I got knocked out at 3. place in a sit'n go...
Just shows that it ain't over etc etc.
I admit, below 700 chips I get frustrated, and more than often f**k it up, but in the cases I maintain cool, I often end up in the money, it just takes more time. Stamina guys, we take'em out on stamina
