Default Play the Hand - AA early in Freeroll

I guess not, haha. I will then...

Blinds: 15/30
Time: 15 mins into FREEROLL
Stack: 1750
Average Stack: 1550
Starting Stack: 1500

You receive AA (heart and space). You are first to act. You actually have the chip leader (6200) next to you who is calling pretty much any raise. The rest of the table is pretty tight with the chip leader at the table except for the Big Blind, who will call with a lot of suited connectors, pocket pairs, and such. He seems a little new to the game and is calling a lot of draws and raising with hands that aren't normally hands you would raise with. Do you...
Go all-in
Raise to 90
Raise to 200
Raise to 350
Raise to 500
Call and Reraise if someone raises

uff, uff....
thinking and thinking...
tough decision, really.
as if im the one against the aces lol.

thinking....

...Well, a donk makes the same moves, just with any two cards and from any position,
so i am gonna be a snake here.

obviously in a freeroll, AA AK KK, from any position is not a bad move to my opinion....
But since i surpose, you aint going to give any points if they all fold and you won't get any action with your rockets so im going to raise even more than 200.
because it is a freeroll, and even without considering the chipleader next to you- people raise according to what they have online, and not according to their position, especially in freerolls with large fields.
that information often alowes me to gamble with nothing against them (if my chipstack lets me) just because i can "see" the Ak through the bet.

to sum this up- I wether go all in or raise to 350 in this game.

Cheers

Well since no one else responded. I would say raise to 200 as raising that large (350) might cause everyone to fold. For me, it would be 200 or all-in. Those would be the ones to get a call/reraise. And being so early in the tournament, any large raise could actually work here depending on the players around you.

Default raise 90 & re-raise

hi

I think given the profiles you've given of two of the players at the table - I would be tempted to raise but only to 90

on the basis that with a couple more calls or folds the player you describe is likely to re-raise

plus its a freeroll so it's virtually inevitable that there will be a re-raise from someone with some interest

I would then re-re-raise (standard double) whatever he'd bet - and hope to get into a raising contest (all preflop) with one player

I've found this is an effective way to get the money in against one player one way or the other preflop -

with AA thats exactly what you want to end up with

cheers scrawnybob

ps. nice post coop - I've split out the two separate posts so its easier to vote on etc

i think this early on a freeroll id tented to go all-in because at least one of the players is going to call for sure. Well because its in first position id raise 2.5 to 3 times the blind and in case of a raise reraise it all-in.

This early on a freeroll i usually take a lot more risks than id take on the second or third hour, because most of the time this will permitt me to gain a lot of chips quickly and in case i get busted its not a big deception because ive only been playing for 15 min.

thats what you should consider with post counts. when you compliment someone, they have a good post. that is what should be rewarded, not the people who respond to ever little post and don't really contribute as much.

Early in a freeroll in early position, it's either fold, or raise really big or you're an idiot. I would probably just jam it all in, because I know that I will probably be going all in after the flop, so why give them a chance to hit their 2 pair of 9s and 2s. If I go all in and they don't call, no big deal...I'm in no desperate situation.

Also though, it depends the table. If the table is tight I'd do a smaller raise, but if the table is super loose I'd go all in. Not all tables of all freerolls are completely donk infested.
