Smile what to do?????

I have a question....I am relatively new to playing 8 months or so?????I cash sometimes...seem to do well beginning of tournament playing tight but aggressive then as amount of players get whittled down my experience (or lack there of) getsthe best of me......last night I was in a tournament playing my normal way I had a bout 26000 in chips..... high was 57000....ave was7500.....I had just made the $$$$ at 135.....I noticed that there were at least 6 people sitting out for a long period of time...just not playing.......I started playing a little loose and proceeded to get knocked out at 117 and not make as much $$$ as I wanted (isnt that always the case)....I guess my question is......is it advisable to just sit back and let people knock each other out and wait????? In my previous posts I have talked about my discipline I guess this would come under that......What do u think

When u enter the money almost everytime the blinds are going to be relatively high, and as u said u were in a pretty decent position. I think the difference between finishing 150th or 50th is just being able to sit back and wait for the big hands to come.

When u have something like 30 bb u can sit back, analyze the other players and let the short stacks battle each other.By doing that u are going to create a tight image, and it will for sure pay u back later on when the blinds gets super high.

You weren't wrong to steal more blinds from tight people, but when they reraise you, you need to know how to get out of the hand. Sometimes you have to fold big hands like JJ, AQ, maybe AK depending how tight your opponenet is and how big their stack is. For the most part, if I enter the money with a stack like that, I will end up at the final table or within the last few tables (unless I get a bad beat from a stack that covers me :P)

When I enter a tournament I aim to finish 1st. So when its the money and people are sitting out I would be looking to steal the blinds and prepare a chip stack for the final table.

Are you making enough continuation bets on the flop after you raise or reraise in position? That could be a part of the problem. Another problem would be not raising or reraising enough while you are in position. Or possibly not stealin enough blinds when you think someone who has raised to take the blinds is weak......

There are a # of possibilities which could be doin it. One way is to post up the hand history here and we could take a look at it.....

GL on the felt!

Well I wouldnt release AA preflop. I'd still raise and be cautious on the flop after seeing what came.
