What do these toothings mean in poker:

a) hand for hand

byes was used in this context: Most recently registered players will be removed as needed before games starts in order to prevent byes

Hand for hand - basically when the tournement reaches a the bubble or a jump up in prize money the tournement is played hand for hand. Meaning that a hand is dealt at every table, the hand is played out. The next hand is not dealt until all tables have completed the previous hand. This prevents people being knocked out and unfairly missing out on the money or more prize money as one hand could take about 6-7mins while another table may have played 2 or 3 hands in that time.

Byes - only occur in head up tournies. To be fair there has to be an even number of players, if there is an odd number of players then one player would not be matched up therfore play one less game than the other players, giving them an unfair advantage.

ahh,i see cause i was in a tourney and i played as slow as i could to reach prize money and he kept saying hand for hand
