Minimum Deposit Poker Challenge
A while ago I mentioned the Chris Ferguson Zero to $10k Challenge and alot of the members in the forum have taken up similar projects - hoping to turn their freeroll winnings into a substantial bankroll.
As I've commented before personally I feel entering freerolls is alot of time for a low return and suggested that it would be better to skip a night down the pub and play from a minimum deposit.
So now I'm going to put my money where my mouth is and get playing some of my accounts that have minimal amounts in and see what I can do with them.
I dont get much time to play at the moment but I will be reporting back occasionally with bankroll updates.
Generally play cash games on a low bankroll but hopefully I can get the odd MTT in as I enjoy the challenge of these more than grinding.
Currently a couple of balances I'll be working on ...
Bodog ... $10.00 deposit ... now at $27.78
Titan Poker ... $ 6.93
Pacific Poker ... $30 deposit (+ $8 instant bonus) ... $38
feel free to post up your minimum / minimal bankroll challenge results here or start you own minimum deposit poker challenge threads ;-)

good luck scrawny, I have a hard time doing anything positive on full tilt, I know its hard to do. Ive lost with Kings the past five times Ive played them all in and the best hand I got called with was Ace 3, others were Queen 4, and Jack Seven, so I knows its tough to do, goodluck!

minimum deposit poker challenge
hi guys
thanks for the support
I'm going to be playing mostly cash games - this has become and area of my game I'm trying to work on more of late
I've played loads of SNG's and after probably 1000's of games in the first year I started playing I've drifted away from them a bit - they are IMHO the best way to get started in playing poker and tournament play
but now I'm going to play very low stakes cash and the occasional MTT to relive the grind of cash games
I'm not going to include FullTilt in the experiement purely because any profit from cash games there generally go into paying for our private tournaments / posting jackpot etc - so that would make it a pain to account for -$50 here and there etc
cheers scrawnybob
ps. will be interesting to see how others are doing - fort looks like he's off to a good start already4kingpoker.com - The Friendly Poker Forum ... Don't Get Bitter - Get Better

7m at Pacific up $10 + 4m at Bodog up $18
hi all
first update is a bit earlier than expected - I'll probably do an update every Monday
But just went in to Pacific to confirm my seats in our games and planned to play 0.05/0.10 cash game for 30mins (so buy-in $10 which is way off on bankroll requirements but I've seen the players before)
I played for a total of 7 minutes - and near enough doubled up on table (-$1.10 for buy-in tournament on Sunday) so now $30 to $47.01 with ticket to Sunday game.
This is why certain sites like Pacific Poker may not have the best software - but they have some of the best low stakes games - and all the members should be playing these sites to build bankroll in cash games ;-)
Another site in the easy to win group is Bodog - since the min deposit I'd played around 30mins to get up to $27 and I've just played another 4 mins (yes only 4 minutes) taking it up to $45.76
Note the smallest game max buy-in at Bodog is $10 so you have to be careful but the opportunities arise so much at sites like this - the players really are that bad ... so make the most of it ;-)
On the Titan Poker account I'm so short ($6.93) I'll be playing the $0.01/0.02 games (the pain) as anything more would just be too risky
I think there are more full table games at the lowest stakes on Titan which isnt so ideal, case in point is the 20mins I've just played (starting with $3.34 in 0.01/0.02 full table) ending up right down to about $1.70 ish but being patient and not throwing it away and then doubling up with AK (his 5th or 6th all-in preflop this time with 78) giving me a net profit of 5 cents ;-)
Bodog ... $10.00 deposit ... $27.78 ... current balance $45.76 (time played 34mins)
Titan Poker ... $ 6.93 ... current balance $6.97 (time played 20 minutes)
Pacific Poker ... $30 deposit (+ $8 instant bonus) $38 ... current balance $47.01 (time played 7 minutes)
The strategy I have on playing the lowest cash games and max of 0.05/0.10 cash games putting either 1/2 or max buy-in down ... It must be noted that this is breaking all the bankroll management rules with such a small deposit - your risking at least early on a very high percentage of your bankroll
Basically don't be proud - as soon as your up by 50%+ then leave the table and start again, don't get bogged down in a game, if your happy to have got 25%+ then ... again get out and start again.
This isn't a hit and run approach - if the cards and opportunities dont come in the first 15-20 mins then you could be there for an hour to make your 25%-50% increase - so be patient - do not try to force hands or bluff or play clever.
If your lucky to hit a decent hand and your getting action and you clean up a big hand in the first 5-10 minutes on the table ... don't wait around getting greedy ... leave the table and start again
At these sites there are loads of / the majority of tables are juicy
I tend to play the 6 seat short tables as these are full of impatient action junkies and are much easier to play as you less likely to find yourself up against 2+ valid hands. You need to see cheap flops but see when your beat, realising when their aggression is due to a good hand and when it is down to a bad bluff or just half a hand.
