Some professional players does very strange moves from time to time and my beloved Gus is one of the worse. But Gus is a calculating donk, you need a very good hand to call the raises, suddenly he got a pair of aces on his hand.

But a donk keep calling with those silly hands that needs a miracle to win it, and in the long run they always end up losing

I have been called a donkey so many times it is not funny. I obviously know I am not. In my experience usually the person using the term is the donkey. I play a very LAG (loose aggressive) style of play. I play my position, I play my reads, I play my instincts, and I play my cards. Usually alomost in that order...lol....but because of my style of play being read based and position based a lot of time my line seems very unusual to a casual player at the table who only notices that he had pocket aces. And can not understand why I three bet him pre with a mid suited connecter of some sort and then bam I nail the flop. Of course I get berated because he had AA. So I think alot of time the word is way over used and most of the time used very incorrectly. Simply put a "donkey" is someone who just does not understand basic ABC poker. My $0.02.

I think people have taken the (donkey) phrase way outta line. People these days will call you that for each and every hand they lose to you, because it's the only way to back up their loss in chips. I agree when someone has something like 7 high, and on the turn someone pushes allin, and they call hoping to hit a straight or trips with only one card left to show (the river) that they have donkey in their blood. But if someone simply calls with 7-8 high preflop and hits something that may be valuable and ends up taking out your pocket q's or k's.....that's poker. I get alot of mixed signals on the felts from being called a donkey to people crediting my play and giving respect. In conclusion, i'd say who cares what others think, it's all about the money nd in the end, the one who has the money is the winner, regardless.

this is how i feel on this subject, i dont give a hoot about what people think of me when i have just demolished there stack, its only chat and it can be disabled. i play the cards, i play the opponent (if i think he can be bullied of a pot, u dont need premium hands to win a pot)

A donkey player is one who'll play any to cards(atc) loosely and will bluff all-in trying to outplay you. They are also players who do not understand the many aspects of poker and berate you when you take down a monster on a draw or with some type of pair.

im a tight player who likes to mix it up a bit and knows when to spring into aggressive action. im know how to lay down jj or even kk for that matter if im beat. even if i begin to feel somewhat sickend by who im playing against because i kno im twice as good as them, i'll just let it go. with this being said ive been called a donkey on like 15 different occasions. even tho i kno im no donk this still pisses me off to no end, often resulting in an argument or insult match. the whole donkey thing has deff. been carried away a bit but dont let that fool ya, there are still some grade A donkey F$@kheads out there.
