I don't like to bluff as it is very very dangerous, especially when you play online there's really crazy people calling with just high card ace... Anyway, in live tournaments I do bluff a little bit, as I am known as a very tight players so when I am in good position I try and steal the pot!
also, you can bluff more easily if you have a high stack... (and as I am a tight player i rarely get a really high stack!)
You have to bluff at some point in a tourney or you will never win. The skill comes in knowng when to bluff. I agree it isn't worth it when the blinds are low at the beginning, when the blinds are in the 500-1000 range you have to bluff or "steal" blinds or the next thing you know your blinded out of the game. Patience, position and table image are crucial to stealing, sometimes you will be called or re-raised, if your called and it's a decent flop for you make a continuation bet, if you are called again you can bet the other player is on a draw or already has you beat, tonights game at PKR was a perfect example antes were 250 and blinds were 1000-2000 if all fold to you on the button with 6 players left, the pot is already 4500, worth a raise to try and take it down or not?
bluffing is definitely a big part of any real money game. but i rarely use an allin bluff. the pot has to be right to. what is the point of stealing without a good pot? its pointless. i ushally lossen up and start tryin to work the bluff when the antes start. then its like 2 BB instead of one.
your table image is also key. instead of big bluffs where u end up pot committed i usually stick out a couple feelers less than pot but atleast 2.5 BB. here is a decent semi bluff while i was typing this.

Late in a tourney, yes, when hopefully you have promoted a nice tight table image...
