Default Is it possible to Bluff?

At first sorry for some mistakes my english is LIMITED ;-)) but i try my best!

I think it its one of the best question in Poker "Is it possible to Bluff?" or is it hand so good that he/she bet house, car and Kids ;-) !

Also is it important which tournament u play Freerolls are crazy u have all kind of people also some crazy guys they call everything!! I have that few days ago! i have J/T and the Flop wasnt so bad for me 3/A/K and i have the Dealer Button (i think is good position to Bluff) and all check, we are with 4 players, i began to Bluff (we all are in the beginning and i won all in with 1500chips my stack was about 3K at this time and i was highest stack at the table other have about 1,5k) so i bet 250 to say i have an Ace and the guy in Big Blind call the other fold! So i know he have the Ace or the King and with the Ace he have no good Kicker ! (cause when he have A/K he would bet)
than the turn bring sh** for me with an 6 and i start to think what he can have and was lil scared of 2 pair with that 6 but he check and give me the position to push so i start my second try and bet 500 so now he is in the position to know i have a good hand but he call! The River brings nothing for me and my bluff was perfect i have nothing lol ! Now i think he put me in a bad position if he bet all in i know it was a trap if he check i must bet or check ! Bet and hope he fold so i must bring him all in or check and see that he beats me with a pair or higher card queen ! so i push cause i think i must try but the pot was so high that he lost the half of his stack when he fold and when he gamble he can double! so i push him all in and he call !
i see an A/4 only a pair with a small kicker !

is that crazy? i think yes and no in a big tournament u stupid to call that but in a freeroll u can do it cause there is nothing to lose and thats the problem to bluff in a freeroll! Later i think it can work when u near the prices but it wont work in the beginning!

The opposite is Cash money a perfect game for Bluffer ! But Bluff works most
at tables with blinds 100/200 and more!

At the smaller blind tables u have people with a lot of money in their pocket and they call many many things a good table to make money with good hands but not so good to bluff possible but not so good!

so i make my own decision to bluff sometimes but i won/lost 50/50 !

All various factor must be right than a Bluff is Possible! Or not? tell me ur experince or the knowledge of pro playing cause i cant know enough about Bluff !

Thx ;-))

Default Anything is possible

First of all, it is possible to bluff, but in freerolls, just forget it, unless there are just a few players left.

But in any cases to shake down a guy with highest pair is extremely hard, even at professional tables, and even with a 4 kicker you will get the call in 9 out of 10 cases. Have that in mind when you have a monster kicker, or your lucky 2 pairs.

But did you play the hand correctly, bare in mind that you only have the quess as an out, so you are a massive underdog, the playing itself with representing isnt half bad, and I guess your only chance to get him to fold was an all in. But when you see it from his perspective, you see you didnt raise or anything so he probably put you on an ace too, and if I were in his shoes I wouldnt have had BIG problems to make the call, and I guess by the way this normally works in freerolls, I guess I would have won, or tied, in at least 5 or 6 of them out of ten....

I dont bluf that often, but when i do bluf preflop, and then a flop comes up, usually i have a decent flop i guess im lucky with that.

And on flop , i look at opponent, chip stack and betting paterns, position , own hand , me drawing to a better hand ,, him being on the draw , it's all about the mind .

Bluf is saying i got it ,but you have to sell the hand , if somebody doesnt understand this sentence , you can ask what i mean ...

Mostly when I bluff it is a semi-bluff. Lets say I have medium pair good kicker. If I know I have sec. best Hand I bluff when I have outs. especially short handed. Not against more than 3 players.

Yes, can't bluff too often, once they work it out you'll be toast! Semi-bluff now and again, especially on the button, is fine.

In a freeroll you can start to bluff when only remain less than 35%-25% of total players.
If you try before then you can find people calling 10xBB with 2-7 unsuited.

You can bluff no problem ... if it works or not is another story.

If you bluff pre-flop ... well that is rather insane to do.. whats the point?

There is nothing in there to win.

If you bluff after the flop, you will have so so results.

If you bluff after the turn, after it was just checked around after the flop - you will find you have the best success.

... but its all going to depend on how often you are playing. If you play very tight, and the only hands they have ever seen from you are monster hands... well you will be successful. If you just got to the table, or are playing all the time - you are going to have a hard time shaking people that have something.

There is still a danger if you are caught out, once people know you are far less likely to get away with it in future. That sort of thing is also very likely to be added to a player's notes about you...
