Default nice one

hi

nice one - great to see JJ stand up

I think it was a poor play by the other player holding AK to move in on a 900 pot with 6000ish with what is a only a drawing hand - preflop

It amazes me just how many players over rate AK on a regular basis - especially as from what I can work out he was under the gun ?

If I'd been him I would have bet the pot - to eliminate most other players and then re-assess on the flop (which would have looked for him both potentially good and also potentially problematic)

Anyway I think your play was ok - given that you had a 2 to 1 chip lead on him although his allin could have always been with QQ KK AA which Im sure you were concerned about

In these situations I have to admit like you I would be inclined to gamble against this possibility when I have them covered and if lost would have still be in the game and able to recover / survive several rounds of the table -

but others may disagree and would probably feel the decision would be based on table and impression of the player(s)

I would have balanced the QQ KK AA (3 hands) possibility against the 1010, 99, 88, 77, 66, AK, AQsuited, AJ suited (unlikely) A10 and also maybe 55 down to 22 (9 to 15+ hands) he could also have moved with ... and also called

Anyway you did well IMHO

cheers scrawnybob

yeah, nice job. very nice!
aldough, it takes a lot of courage 2 cover all in , not knowing what are the final cards on the table.

I agree, maybe 3 or 4 BB raise would be good, and then look the flop and evaluate a continue bet.

ya i put him on ace rag. this guy just doubled up on a three way pot wit total crap. i could easily put him on AK but i didnt. i put him on a hand like A 8 or some rag suited. i was playing very tight, this was one of the only hand i defended my blind. and happened to get very lucky. ushally i would drop JJ i play JJ like 1010 or 99. if no set and there are over cards im prolly check folding. but like i said this guy just double sucked out to get 7k. easy come easy go. gl fellas.

The explains his bet and your call.

He was still in that I have 3000 chips mentality but also had that I am invincible type of feeling.
