Okay, this sort of has to do with poker, and sort of doesn't, so I posted it here instead of on the poker chat board. Does anyone have any favorite music to play when getting a game going with friends? Obviously I guess the Big & Rich song is popular with the poker crowd these days, but my husband and I are big Guns & Roses fans, so we usually have their greatests hits on the cd player during our weekly games. Other than that I like country, but I usually get out voted.
On that same note, does anyone really know what Ivey listens to during the big tournaments? He's almost always wearing headphones when I see him playing, just wondering if he does that to actually listen to music or to drown other people out?
i always put on oceans eleven CD gets a good vegas feel going - wide boys out on the town - or the lock stock soundtrack - puts the boys in the right mood to get there cash out
I have a pretty eclectic music list, which oddly enough seems to work,,I figure adifferent song puts you in a different mood,, and it's easy to switch up your game
last weekend while we were playing, it was heads up, and i had 45 000 chips, he had about 3 000... so was clearly gonna win the game. the radio was on and they were playing the song " this is the end...." that became my new song for heads up poker. other than that, any floyd / or stoner music is good to play poker with, it should only be there in the air as a background noise so it doesnt throw you off your game!
I tend to listen to chilled out R&B, somnething like John Legend it tends to stop me going on tilt. I have listned to some harder stuff but tend to make stupid decisions.
Not sure bout what Phil Ivey listens to when he's playing but when he was in Bluff mag his cd collection was quite varied.
