Question What to do?

This is a typical hand that can be very tricky. Full table SNG. A mid position player limps in, everyone else folds, the small blind completes and you are in the BB with A-9os. You check (do you?). The flop comes 5-5-A. Small blind checks. What do you do?

I'm gonna bet here. With only 3 of you in the pot, chances are nobody has a 5. If you get reraised, fold.

It's a situational judgement call...

Personally, I would assume the SB will fold to any bet (might be a costly assumption)... And the other guy, has he been playing tight or loose?

If he's been playing tight, I'd toss out a 3x BB raise and see what he does... If he folds, you probably won the hand (again, possible costly assumption), but if the limper calls, you're probably outkicked... hope for another 5, a 9, or an ace...

If he's been playing loose, well, I don't know... I always have a problem reading these players... I'd probably try to do 2x raises and hope he doesn't reraise...

I personally play very tight aggressive, I would hit him hard, probably all in. Force Them to make a decision. I think everyone plays different which would make for different scenarios. good luck!!

I agree with Jeffsbabe I would raise and fold to a reraise there is always a possibility of someone trapping and having the nuts and checking. Because I know if I had the nuts I would act weak too get someone too push!
