AK, AQ, i hate them both. i like to limp in with them though. it seems every time i raise with AK, someone calls nad hits and i didnt or at it seems. I've lost alot of hands with big slick
The way I use A-K is to either "use it or lose it."
If I need chips and my stack is low, I'm pushing.
If I think I can get my opponent to lay down pre-flop after he raises, I'm re-raising or moving all in.
But,if I don't need chips, and let's say there are two all-in pre-flop raises in front of me, if one of those stacks can hurt me, I will fold. A-K is still a drawing hand.
I think it's important to be aggressive in tournament poker, but even the best drawing hand needs to be folded pre-flop some of the time.
AK suited is one of my favorite hands, for some reason it seems to win more often for me than AA or KK probably because it gives you so many more options to win. Flush, Straight, 2 paid, pair, set, quads.

Sike , haha you think im going to give that kind of advice ???
Dude KK and AA , are better then AK suited or offsuit preflop .
You got like 80 + % preflop with the AA and with KK atleast 70 + % to win .
Anybody that can explain why ? cause for him it seems like gold .

Here's the thing, if you cant spot the sucker the first half hour of the game, you are the sucker.
A couple people have the right idea here...AK is a DRAWING hand. A good hand, sure. Better than most, yes. However it is still a drawing hand. If I am playing and I am dealt AK and I am facing a raise from a player I feel to be stronger than I am and possibly capable of outplaying me than I may consider a push for all my chips. Here is my reasoning, first I have to be able to be semi sure I am not facing AA....KK as well but obviously more worried about AA. Now if this is the case here is why I like the push. Simply because you have now guarnteed yourself to see all 5 cards. With AK being a drawing hand that is very important. You have now eliminated a strong players ability to push you off of that hand with his A10 on a q83 board or something of the like. Now obviously I am not shoving AK everytime, but at times it is a good idea. I am a firm believer that AK is the most overplayed hand in hold em especially for the beggining player. My $0.02.
For the longest time, I always raised pre-flop 3 or 4x with AK, depending on where the blinds were, especially during tournament play. AK, very much lik J10 suited or not, has never ever done anything for me. On many occasions I have folded AK even after someone raised and I was big blind and it has always been the right move. I guess to put it simply, that's just Poker.
The best way to play this hand is to jam preflop and be very cautious postflop. This is the best hand all-in against underpairs and weaker aces, but doesn't fair much better against other hands. The biggest misplay with this hand is that people fire way too often a massive bet or go all-in on the flop praying that no one hit. This hand is one hand that 'll decrease your bankroll if played too loosely.
ak is the best hand possible...now some would say im wrong, but im not...simply because in internet poker, the flop is so high...everytime....u have no choice but to win with that hand...
ak is not the best hand preflop or post flop unless you flop aaa or kkk or aak i mean what were you thinking when you ak is the best hand
possible
