Default Possible To Succeed Online Without Ever Making Deposit?

Ok, so I'm currently out of a job, and I spent my last £100 on buying some Muse tickets, therefore my banks completely dead, my poker account's also dead after having won £350 and deciding to withdraw everything and go on holiday. (lost the remaining £4 or so by playing stupid.)

Being a huge lover of poker, I've recently been trying my luck with freerolls to try and hop 'back onto the ladder'. I've played around 5 so far, all 1000 players +, and I've yet to finish outside the top 200.

Last night was the biggest bummer though, was playing 2 tournaments pretty much consecutively - started 1 hour apart.

Carbon Poker
~1000 players joined
Top 10 payout
Came 17th
Was 5th and stacked for ages until I tried to stupidly bully some guy out of a pot

Fulltilt
~1200 players
Top 27 payout
Came 34th

So close, yet I'm still broke as a joke.

Has anyone else had any luck with never making a deposit? And also, do any clients have a policy where you have to deposit to withdraw or anything like that?

Peace,
Robo~

i have never deposited on any site but i have a lil money on like 10 sites as for withdrawing i have never withdrawn anywhere yet either....most sites do require a deposit b4 withdrawing.... and alot require you to clear a certain amount of comp/FTP/ what ever the site wants to call them..frequent player points b4 withdrawing...it is a certain % of the money you need to get in points...if all ur winnings are freeroll winnings...like for example a couple weeks ago i won$100 on pokerari and to with draw any of that i would have had to get 15 times my winnings in points meaning i needed to get 1500 points b4 withdrawing....points are decided on how big a rake is at a ring game or how much entry fee into a MTT...hopw this helps a lil

Exclamation Goal

I always make the mistake of spending my winnings on a cash table , or a sit and go with the highest buy in i can get in .

But my tip is when you make the money of the freeroll , dont use it , make it like $ 50 , then only when there is a private buy in tour with not much people entering and high roi , i suggest playing those , and only playing the best of the best hand and your A game while your at it .

For me i always make or 20 $ or 250 $ then go lose it in one or 2 hands in a cash game i knew i should not have enterd , but the bad beat makes me so sick i want to do it again thinking it wont happen again , but it does ...

So freeroll , money , freeroll , money ,, private buy in , money .. never play a buy in or cash game , it might work .

Im trying , but the cash makes you want to play .. pfff COME ON apply to your own rules and game !

RULES:
1: PATIENTS!
2: Make some money out freerolls first 100 $ +
3: Stick to the game you know and only play when you feel like it.
4: You cant lose what you dont put in the middle

5: But you cant win allot either .

I've never deposited and over the last 4 years I've built a bankroll of around $800 from money won in freerolls. It's been very slow going but it depends what you want out of poker. I like winning money but it's not the main reason I play, rather I enjoy the challenge and working at becoming a better player. I don't really freeroll any more apart from forum games and the odd forum challenge game.

So yes it's possible to build a roll from nothing but it's a long old job

Cheers for the feedback guys. I didn't explain it properly first time, but what I meant was I'd try and win a free roll to get some money, then join the cash games.

I was just wondering whether I'd be able to withdraw any money.

I'll check the full tilt rules out kingjames. Seems very shitty if i have to accumulate a lot of points to withdraw!

Oh, and I now have $7

It's quite impossible to do it at certain sites as they request you a minimum deposit for a cashout

The way I got round the cashing out was to find a site that will let you cash out your freeroll winnings, they will probably ask for verification of your identity. I cashed out to Moneybookers then used that money to deposit to sites where I had won money on freerolls, played for a while then cashed out the lot. I never had any problems getting my money out. I now keep most of my money in Moneybooker only ever depositing when I need to move freeroll winnings.

Smile Having Fun

I had been playing Carbon Poker freerolls and Sit N Go Funsteps for the last few months and had built up my bankroll to about $15. One day I noticed that they had a $3.30 $625 guarantee tournament. I finally entered one day and lo and behold came in First! With the rebuys added on to the prize pool I ended up winning around $227! The next day I looked into withdrawing and found that since I'd won a real money tournament with freeroll winnings I could immediately withdraw...minimum of $50...so I took out $200 and kept playing. I couldn't put much together for about the next week or so, but earned some comp points at the cash tables and a couple of stars and didn't lose much money. Then Carbon started the bounty tournaments and I decided to use $2.20 and entered one of them and...took first place and knocked out a dozen or so people, obtaining their bounty also. I won about $92 that day and have been playing with it for the last few weeks and having fun! So, I'm not rich, but I've been having a good time for Free!...

I believe you would only have to prove your identity on most sites. Withdrawing use to be as easy as depositing here in the US until President Bush passed the bill to make it harder to play online for money in the US. You might just need to build up a bankroll and make the minimum deposit possible then withdraw it all.

Robofish I don't where you live but 32red are doing some good freerolls over the next couple of weeks.
You can win redbacks and with these you can play buyin tournaments. Also they have a $3200 freeroll on the 30th April.
I have only every deposited £20 and that was 16 months ago and won a couple of tournaments the last one was on Paddy Power in March for $2300.

Another good site is NoIQ.They have freerolls all day. There are some which are .10c buy in with .10c rebuys.
I have won some $5.50 tokens in these.

Also another good site is Poker Utd.At 8/8.30pm I think it is they have a freeroll where 3 people win Match day tokens.Only about 20 - 30 people play in these. These are worth $5.50 and is for a game on Sundays at 8pm I think.
