The Free Roll Whore Problem

I have had an idea re the above........

Why not post a wrong code on the same day in open forum, which should result in some ones account being suspended for putting the wrong pass word in more than "x times" and post the correct password 2 hours before in the forum PM system, which could be coded in some way if you say some thing in PM in the vain of:- The pass word for XYZ Tournament is "The Winner of the 2006 main event (ie Jamie Gold is the pass word) people who do not speak English will have a small problem under standing the right pass word.

If people are only reading this site for the password and do not speak English it will give them a little more troubble because they have to write the Right password and under stand it in English ( ie no mick mouse key boards!)

May be its worth it I dont play them so its over to you Gals and Guys...

I can also generate a password system where by a list of passwords is sent to members that Bob knows are legitimate and Bob would only have to post A letter of the English Alphabet so you look at your list and type the right answer into the pass word section of the poker clinet.

It doesn't matter how difficult you make the system passwords, if somebody want to share it then you face a problem without solution (or almost without one).
This is the real problem.

but luzipher has unfortunately hit the nail on the head - if they really want to get the passwords to give out - I would say over half of the ones I've found have ...

made a remarkable amount of effort not just to post 10 crap posts ... but be moderately active members making decent posts

some of the ones I have banned you would be suprised at as I had to retake when I had snooped around - and caught them red handed (one was a mod at another sites for example who clearly wanted browny points with their gang to get them passwords)

any system has either problems

for me and the host poker room in terms of logistics that specifically want to avoid by using passwords

or for good members getting passwords and using them properly having more hastles

or for good members finding non member players in the games

I dont have any easy answers but this at the moment is getting alot of my attention

Well, I would like to speak up on this subject, as I dont really understand the whole freeroll whore thingy anyway... after all nearly all poker clients out for download have there own freerolls listed on them for all thats aq member to play or for bonus points. If your a decent player and trying to build your bankroll that is a excellent way to get a foot up on the said client so why all the hoopla over a freeroll out there anyway... there's plenty listed they just need to go find one...

we not talking about any old client freeroll that anybody on that client has the right to be in...those don't require PWs to get in....we are talking about our PRIVATE freerolls that are for a league ... people whoring out our PRIVATE PWs are what we are aiming to stop...we aren't tryin to build bank rolls with these we r tryin to win a league

yes just to clarify - we are taking about our private freerolls - NOT public freerolls

Bear in mind I pay for the total prize pool personally for alot of our tournaments, some but not all are funded or part funded by the poker rooms

anyway this isnt the point - the point is the standard lobby freerolls that are open to everyone ... are suprisingly open to everyone

the private forum freerolls and tournaments ... are suprisingly only open to members of whichever forum is running them and that members also meet whatever requirements the forum deems neccessary

so anyone who gives out prviate passwords / posts them on sites / trades then just gives them to a mate - is wrong and to be honest its got so bad at forums including to some degree in ours (although I know forums who have more problems) that I can understand forums getting players accounts frozen at sites - the sites by the way are being supportive on this - so password sharers really need to wake up an smell the coffee

the public freerolls are ment for anyone to get a feel for poker (and then hopefully deposit to play in proper decent sized games with decent money & decent size field

the private forum freerolls are meant for members of those forums - to compete in leagues, encourage new signups to sites via the forums links & to keep members happy

on the password front - the only problem with the idea of having a question is to be honest they will just work out the answer and then post or send that out - most of them wont even realise their was a question in the first place

while freeroll password sharers are muppets - they are not stupid when it comes to making sure they and their mates can play in as many as they can find - they just dont care about whether they should or not

Hello i am a member of a few big online poker forums and this happens to them all.To be brutally honest its mostly the Italians and Romanians.And they come and go like the seasons change.History does prove that.Heres the real problem i think,and im only using these names as an example.(not trying to offend anyone)

Say Jonny Thompson signes up to the forum he says hes from Quebeck,Canada and with ease makes his 10+ posts and starts playing password protected games.

Meanwhile him name is really Navid Raduk from Romania(again just examples) and after he becomes active he return to his Poker Forum in his home Country.And posts your Private Freeroll Password.As they all laugh and giggle.Its always going to be a problem.

The only solution and i think someone said this already.And more sites are doing this.Is to have a list of Active Forum Players planned out with you and the poker client.And names will automatically be registered,no password even needed.I know Full Tilt does this for a few of there forums.Thats just my two cents though

Freerolls are great and I don't balme anyone who is trying to build a bank roll. I feel that the best players will win most often and if someone is going to go through the hassle of finding out the password through other means, who cares. You can't stop the guys/gals who know how to infiltrate computer systems thats for sure.

i sure wish people would read a whole post b4 replying not evenhaving a clue as to the point of the orgional post
so Sandbagger try reading....these are about our league games that we r not in to build a bankroll it is to get points to win a league....and someone in it that shouldn't be in it and as u say "infiltrate" our tournies 1 or 2 times just to get a couple bucks... not giving a s*** about our league f***s our whole league standings up
