Default Small pairs?

I would like to get your opinion on having pocket 2-2s & 3-3s dealt to you. I've found that 95% of the time when I get 2-2s Im better off folding them than wasteing my bet or blind. Now pocket 3-3s Im not sure what to do with this hand. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you want to play small pairs, try to see unraised pots with them and play from there generally. On occasion, I'd recommend raising preflop to put pressure on the other players. If you decide to call a preflop raise, make sure you are getting the right price to see the flop.

I can understand if you was talking about 22s versus 99s.
I cannot understand why you want play 22s and 33s in a different way.

Talking 22 vs 33

There not a lot of difference between pair of 2s and 3s. If you want to find out wether they will hold out against the other hands, try seeing what the flop shows, you might find yourself holding trip 2s or 3s, or if very luck, 4 of a kind. I been in that position a few times, generally thinking 'oh dear' after mucking the pair!

Wink 22 vs 33

Alternatively, if you've got the gumption, you could always try bluffing everyone else into thinking that the flop helps your cards, only problem is if someone really does have the hand and is willing to play it against you! Ya pays your money and takes your chance!!

Default sm. pairs

I have always found that the only time I will raise or even call with a pr, smaller than 55 is in an unopened pot, so not too attract too much attention. I think it's best to play hands you are guaranteed not to be better than about 2-8% is to try and sneak in, allowing the possibility for a big win.

Jason

You can play small pairs only in late position
If there is few limpers - you can also limp

or a little raise in early position - could be a hight pair which you can beat

But don t forget you can also loose against another higher set!!!

Depends on what's you're playing. In MTT i would fold all small pocket pairs except if it doesn't cost me a lot to see the flop (during 3 or 4 first levels). Then i will fold them nor if i'm engaged as Sb or BB.
When i play it, i usually plan on catching a trips or a full, no less. If i don't catch anything on flop i will fold at first bet.
Later in MTT, when tables ain't full, i try to play it, but no more slow playing.
In SH you can play it almost anytime, as if it was a pp 8's. Raise preflop. Bet on flop.
