SSL problem

I was just on at carbon poker looking at the SSL certificate (Thawlt) The seal Say's invalid SSL. certificate. Tried to talk to live support said i need to down load a adobe shock wave program, Then error message came up said invalid SSL. I logged out. Then i tried to get back on carbon, clicked the carbon icon nothing happened. Something very strange about this whole thing.

UPDATE: I am getting a 100% totally valid Thawlt certificate showing on my PC running Poker.com & on Carbon ...

I think they may have told you to upgrade your version of Adobe shockwave as this is a graphics app that displays images - and has nothing to do with security so it may be simply a display issue and nothing to do with secruity

However I am getting a response for Carbon and will let you know

if there is a long term or proven issue with a site then it goes without saying I will draw attention to it and members can obviously post on it - but its sometimes best to contact me and definately the site - as other members can sometimes think its a bigger problem when its very likely not to be a problem with the site generally

there are a multitude of perfectly genuine reasons for problems with sites - a site may have changed something and have a tempory conflict etc with other software on PC's or with their own setup

thats probably why they said to download adobe shock wave - i think its maybe an updated version - and the site wont render some logos etc right if running thorugh an older verion of shockwave

it sounds to me like they are aware of the issue and the issue down to some changes or its an issue with software needing to be updated on your PC for the site to run properly - that doesnt suddenly mean "you play at your own risk" ... that a bit scare mongering without knowing what they issue is and how important that issue actually is

Carbon is one of the best sites - so I find it hard to believe they have an issue on anything like a permament basis or a genuinely invalid security certificate

I will be contacting them asap for some actual answers for you to the possible issue
but best to PM me and I will have and will get some proper answers - as its better not to panic members when they dont need to

Im aussie and have downloaded both walker poker and carbon poker it wont allow me to play there on cash games or freerolls I have no problem with other sites and cant work out why it does this been looking for other sites other than ultimate bet to play at can anyone help

This may not be your problem, but it's one idea.

When you dowloaded, what was the internet address? Some poker rooms have 2 sites. One for play chips and one for real money. The sites with .com after are usually for real money. I would say uninstall your program, then go back and reload. If you signed up for a play money site(it's not easy to tell) you will have to register again using the real money site.

I don't know if all the rooms have this, but I ran into this issue with Poker Stars one time. (i.e. pokerstars.net vs pokerstars.com)

My suggestion is this. Uninstall the program. Then go to a site that will show if your programs are up to date. You can google to find some free ones, I use secunia.com.

After you have updated everything, try to install Carbon again. It will probably work then.

Carbon is a good site. I just withdrew money there and had it instanly deposited into my ewalletxpress account. No problems.

Carbon is closed to Aussies as it own by aussies - very similar situation to why Bodog is closed to Canadians

Thawlt is a company who verify security at online sites generally including some poker sites - like verisign type stuff - the certificate should be valid for it to be genuinely trustable

I've checked carbon / poker.com from my PC and certificate shows as valid - so I think this is a PC specific issue with how the site is / isnt showing for derringer007

I can appreciate that from his end it looks like a problem - I'm 99.9% sure it isnt as several of us have had a look - but I will get confirmation and also try to find out if it is the adobe shockwave software that is totally separate from the site but is I think used to render the thawlt certificate image

I second scrawnybob in that I think its a PC specific issue Derringer007. We use new versions of software in every version of carbonpoker and any updates of the site. It's a good idea to give your pc a little cleanup, download the new versions of any plugins be they Adobe or whatever and retry. You could re-install as a last resort, but I dont think you need to go that far at this stage.

I'm sorry buddy. Scrawnybob is right - all skins on the Merge Network are closed to Aussie players. If we took Aussie bets while being based there the owners would get screwed There's a large risk their butt's would go from being like this "o" to this "O" in the local prisons. Sorry for any inconvenience but I'm sure there are other, more convenient options available to you through 4kingpoker.

I can happily get you a more technical reply if you so require it but I'm sure all will be okay if you just download the latest plugins and clean up your pc.
