Just to let you know.
1/I wasn't playing.
2/I didn't want the seat.
3/I done it to support this forum.
4/Wouldn't of got someone to play for me if there was no money prize.
5/So even before it started the seat was yours someone from another forum wanted to make you play for it rather than give it to you on a plate.
6/I will getting the hand history later as I heard you played nearly every hand except one when we got AA.
7/From what I was told you played a good game of lotto.
I will still be at DTD as my hubby and 2 sons are playing there.
yep glad you two played as I wasnt sure it would run with so few entries - big thanks to Virgin for putting the game on - and letting it run with so few
in terms of the prize money
I think your both up at least a bit ;-)
yep I took a small loss for coming 3rd - but thats not a problem
I think it was only 4 euro for the invisible 4th place - I think Virgin are more than welcome to that given they've ponied up a 150 euro seat for free ;-)
just a shame we couldnt get more of our UK members to have seen what a good deal the tournament was ;-(
cheers scrawnybob

Whats the point of this? I have always been polite to people here I find 6 and 7 a strange attack on me, but OK I know where it's at now. I don't know as I'll be accepting the "gift" but thanks.
It's always good to ask others opinions on how hands were played.
Also it gives them an idea of what hands you and I(in this case it wasn't me) play for our league games.
I will be playing the league games here and no one else will step in if I can't make it.So in time members will get a read on the hands I play and the way I play them. And me on them.
Wait for the hand histories and we can discuss some of your play.
I can't get HH's until tonight as it's on another computer.

The way I played was in response to an opponent who was offering very little resistance. I worked out early on that the person i was playing either wasn't interested or was very poor. I soon had a larger stack and was then going to play nearly everything because whoever I was playing against folded to most bets. I lucked out on 1 hand because was getting bored, and took a beat when my AK was beaten by A9. I was happy to win, a better opponent would have prompted a different game so I shouldn't bother with the hand history.
When I get confirmation of the Festival entry from Virgin I'll sort it out but reading the terms and conditions if I turn down the entry it goes to you as second place.
Sorry about this Bob you put effort in to arranging these things and get a poor response then trouble breaks out after. I won't be making any further comment.
I think maybe (hopefully) I can help as I think maybe the meaning has got lost in translation
I think polar was tied up on another tournament - so had a family member play the game to make up the numbers for the tournament
as a result you probably had an easier ride than if playing polar (thats not to say you wouldnt have won) - I dont think polar was implying that
I think it was a more generally directed comment that
polar didnt want to win the ticket (and had to play another sites game) but turned up and made the buy-in to support other members who might have signed up & support the forum generally
So I think it was more about the pre game intent / plan to buy-in and write it off because they wanted to show willing
I'm sure polar will confirm this - so I dont think either of you need to fall out about it - it's a "lost in translation" situation not a dig at you
I think you would both agree that it was suprising that more of our UK members didnt see the potential and big overlay and generousity of Virgin for setting up this game for us
It's just a bit disapointing that we didnt get a decent turnout for them - as always when a site comes to us with a proposal like this we hope that members take part and make it worthwhile for all concerned -
If we get better turnouts for these one off games - then sites are more keen to work with us and offer these games ... if we get poor turnouts then they wont be

Well, I had intended to play this game and wish I could have. I worked on the cash tables and made the buyin easy only to have another commitment come up.
I'm not dying about the network, but I'll save what I have there for anything that pops up in future.
Congratulations Neil,
You made some great wins recently and I wish you all the best if you take the ticket.
What exactly is DTD anyway?
Is it like a regular thing for you all, casino/poker hall or something?
DTD is Dusk Till Dawn, it's a poker room in Nottingham. It's not a regular thing for me no, I have never played live before.
Reading the information they have sent through it's a game that seems designed to take online players into a real casino, which seem a good idea.
Thats what I thought and was what interested me. I just couldn't get over next weekend. I would love that. Oh yes baby, ...on the boat, beat down the m'ways in Evo to play LIVE poker. Must look into that some more
No doubt there'll be another festival soon if this is a plan of theirs?
