Playing too many hands

Most beginners play way too many starting hands, in fact top players typically play between 20-30% of their starting hands. Concentrate on higher value starting hands and help remove the luck element of the game.

As a beginner, that is what I try to do.

What disheartens you and encourages you to play many more hands is seeing guys win with stuff you would never have played.

Same here - went off the rails the last couple of days with my good cards getting beat and folding crap that turned out would have won. Am now on a chasing spree and need to stop.....bloody hard to though.

Any experienced players got some tips to help curb this?
