Switching Gears

I haven't had much luck in SNG's lately so I switched to micro cash games yesterday (.05-.10 blinds). Started with $3 and finished with $13.50 thirty minutes later. Think I'll keep this up for a while. Sure was nice to get such a big return in such a short time.

i like to switch it up. i'll find myself playing in nothing but sng's and get in a losing slump so what i'll do is play every thing. i'll star off with sng's then .5&.10cent tables. or maybe get into a couple of 45, 90, or 180 person tournaments. if i find myself losing after having the winning hand up to the river and losing (which is often) i might just take a break for a couple of days or just play for play chips until i feel more comfortable playing for money gl to you

I never play for play chips...if I need a break I take a break...a real break. No playing or talking about poker during the break. I play small buy-in tourneys, SnGs, and cash games a bit, and I have switched it up as well during a losing streak. That $13.50 from $3 is indeed a great session.

It's good to see that you are finding different ways to get a good price for your bankroll. Continue to play solid poker, regardless of the limit or type of game. Stay focused and try to minimize mental errors and bad bankroll management.

Making ten dollars in thirty minutes at a .05 .10 table suggests you picked up some good hands. You really should try profiting in cash games over a long session (a few hours) to get an idea of where your game is really at.

I've had great success in omaha hi/low SnG's. I find that still a large % players don't truly understand the game.
