Default Freerolls

I've only won 1 freeroll other than that I have placed in the money a couple of times. I usually just wait for a decent hand and try to play it sensible unless another person starts the raising then I go nuts on them sometimes you win sometimes you lose but hey thats poker.

It is tough to win a freeroll cuz there are a bagillion people in it?!! I have also yet to win a freeroll but I've placed top 5 many times. It is VERY frustrating gettin so close without gettin that 1 spot. It is also hard to win a freeroll because the play is soooo unpredictable. People dont pay anything to get in so they think they can just shove chips around with 6 2 off... i mean they can, but it sucks when ur blindsided by the 2-6 straight on the flop. Good Luck!

Default freeroll

One problem is that everyone in it wants to win, another is that poker is a great deal of luck and players are going to get lucky, it all just comes down to getting your money in when your going to hit the better hand.

One of the main reasons is besides the sheer number of players is that in a fr ppl will play ANY 2 cards, will go all in with ANY 2 cards and do it over and over... It's hard to adjust your game to that kind of crap in a fr and especially early on that seems to be the standard of play for most... How often do you make a large raise,OR go all in with your AA and have 6-9 players CALL!!!?? In a freeroll you sure will!.... People just don't take it seriously, the premise being,"free game, nothing to lose".... What they SHOULD be doing is using that game, free as it is,to continue to sharpen and work on their skills but sadly they don't... It's a matter of patience, waiting the nuts out... and that sadly is hard to do sometimes!

Default taKE YOUR TIME

I notice.... When I ever do get far and get in the money, I notice that I play alot less hands the first hour and take it very slow, I notice the later in the tourney when the blinds or bigger and the pots are I get more chips and people are not playing as loose and crazy, then thats when alot of bluffing comes into play, because they are so scared to lose chips so deep into the tourney when they barely have a hand and wanting to take the chance.

well, its probably more that they have now invested more than an hour in the tournament, so they feel they need to get something out of it. but that's definitely a true statement. it does tighten up. the first hour can play like a rebuy, where people don't care if they go busto.

I have put probably close to 200.00 on carbon poker. I have made some really great come ups but then you get greedy and its all down hill from their. I have played numerous freerolls on their trying to win a ribbon or trophy and i cant manage either. I was playing one night and had a full house far into the tournment and push all in the guy call my with a pair or jacks and the turn and river was two 7' s so he beat with with a higher one. It really makes me wonder about the cheat software and if its real? SunnyD

You didn't give us enough information. What type of freeroll? One from a forum or one from a site. I won't play in site freerolls as there are just too many players. Bodog has two big freerolls each day. However, they also have 2,000 to 4,000 players. If you are as good as the top ten per cent of players that means you have 200 to 400 equally skilled players. Now you need to have the best luck to go with your skill.

The best freerolls to play in are the ones that are put on my forums. They normally have a low player field and it's not that hard to get in the money, not first or second place but still in the money.

This is how I look at a freeroll. What is the prize pool? How many players are there? I divide the prize pool by the number of players. If the amount is less than fifty cents, I won't play in it. I don't want to play for three or four hours and win twenty-five cents.
