bob so you know i was warned which is fine if i broke a rule then im sorry .but i was warned for pw sharing i have never given a pw out from this forum or any other in which i shouldnt have or wasnt allowed . i do belong to that other forum also which gives out other forum pws . i have used some of these but never given out pws in which i shouldnt have. i realize some forums ban you just for belonging to this other forum , poker is supposed to be fun and i OBEY all rules but being guilty by association is something i thought went oout in the middle ages.

Belonging to the forums where passwords are shared is a great way to get banned by the hard working forums that get sick of their private games being crashed.

Don't you think using other forums PW. Which were not meant for you to use in the first place was wrong?? Is as bad as giving them out??? The key word here is private PW. Meant to be used by that forums members not giving out for other people to use without permission. I cant thank scrawnybob enough for checking out the user names on poker sites and verifying them to the user names in our forum so the winnings goes to legitimate members of our forum. Not someone invading our private tourney's. Private means Private!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well,I will give lowly opinion here as well... IF someone belongs to that "other" forum then I think they do not belong in anyone else's forum. This is not directed at you personally Tim as I don't know all your details although you are usually in most of the games at another reputable forum that I am a long time member of.Hopefully you are getting your pw's honestly.... But as I mentioned in another post here,the admin at all the forums out here work hard putting games up for their TRUE members,and to have members of a forum that SPECIALIZES in pw stealing,come in here or ANY FORUM for that matter,take the pw's and distribute them out to one and all is despicable and just plain wrong. AND THEY SHOULD BE BANNED... NO EXCEPTIONS! How do you like having your forum put up a fr for its members to enjoy and you end up with 300-400-500 ppl in it!?!? And all because some jacka$$ gave out the PRIVATE pw,not very much fun is it?? Eventually all freerolls will go by the wayside and we'll only be seeing buy ins.

i saw other forums arrande games saying - "the prizes will be payed via the forum according to league standings"

i think it pretty much seals the invader problem, since non members basically have nothing to play for unless they'l take it with all seriousness ie. registering, participating, applying forum's rules (which is important)...

personally i wouldn't play a league like that since the bubble doesn't exist, but a low prize pool with the idea of the standings is interesting.

at wass, they have the brl which is played only for pride. it's a succesfull one because the majority of the players/posters know each other/whom they are playing against and there comes the respect.

p.s private not always means private, there are private games easier to register to, than finding a speciffic game in a coplicated "lobby"

thanks jack i agree with you . some forums such as wass is great at the way they set up there freerolls. i belong to several forums and whats wrong with that . poker is supposed to be fun . and poker is just that poker what you really find is that freerolls with alot of players in them usally haveonly a few quality players in them . i enjoy beating the idiots lol. i jion forums to play as many GOOD players as possible. even if it means taking out a bunch of donkeys. when you get to the final table you can preaty much be sure that most of the time only the better players have surviveed. and if your worried about the number of players in a freeroll then why would you ever play at fulltilt or pokerstars

I dont think Tim has been warned specifically - but you may have received PM's etc which point out our password rules etc and also I have expressed my dislike of sites (any sites) who encourage or allow posting of any private passwords - that isnt singling out "that" password site as there are many many "general" forums which only really get any visitors because of the passwords they allow to be posted

As I have pointed out to members before - witch hunts and / or specifically pointing out things about specific members isnt the way to do things ;-)

Anyway on a general note ...

I try to deal with all issues / password problems personally and on a case by case basis

this means that people who have crashed our games by obtaining and using a password which they shouldnt have + then join the forum + maybe post 10 maybe not ... get a chance to address the issue depending on the level of the problem

this is because others crash games and dont join (and possibly cash) etc

some of these non members take the olive branch - give me the information I need and are able to stay in the forum and make amends

others get sh*tty and dont co-operate so they get banned and possible further action by the poker rooms

this is all about having clear disincentives for non members (or members who did not get the password legitmately) - to deter them from playing our private games

however I DO make a big disctiction between people who use passwords they have found / given (I dont approve or condone it) BUT the BIGGER problem and the INEXCUSABLE people are those that GIVE OUT or POST or private passwords which they are legitmately getting and then abusing

I would happily give a 2nd chance to ten password users who then join up and try to go legit in exchange for the NAME and info on ONE password poster (ie. a disloyal member of the forum) as I want to get rid of the people giving out the passwords - this is where the problem is

illigitimate private password users are part of the problem - but they are NOT the source of the problem ... that unfortunately sits with members who give out our passwords - and everyone knows our games are 100% private so there is ZERO excuse on that front

Alot of forums are going down the ban anyone who is in that password sites - I'm not, at least not on a random basis - for a start alot of the big offenders are not stupid enough to use the same usernames everywhere ... so you dont catch them anyway

I do look at who is posting passwords from other sites at other site who allow it ... and I do ban them

now that isnt guilty by association ... it's guilty of posting others passwords so very likely to post ours if they have access to them

Whilst it creates alot more work for me as the two wasted days last week will atest sorting out password abuse ... I do try to be even handed and sure I ban the right people and not the wrong ones

you were caught redhanded. your ip address was linked directly to pw stealing. you weren't just banned for "belonging" to another forum under suspicion. i loathe what you've done and only tolerate your existance here because i have too.

You know your right my ip address is linked to the site but just because i belong to the forum doenst mean that ive ever posted another forums pw . So go ahead and loathe me .
