Default Turbo SnGs - which sites?

Does anyone know the different structures of 'Turbo' SnGs on the following sites:

Hollywood Poker
Carbon Poker
PKR poker

I have never played these sites and without downloading the software and opening an account I cannot find out.

I play on Poker Heaven at present and very much like the structure of their turbo SnGs:

Blinds: 15/30, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 150/300, 200/400, 300/600, 400/800, 600/1200

5 & 10 player tables with 3min blind levels and either 1500 or 2000 starting chips depending on whether its a buy in above or below €50.

These games are typically over in about 20mins which means I can play about 10 an hour (if I multi-table).

They also have 'speed' SnGs - same as above but with 5min blind levels.

Also which sites are are the softest for SnGs? (I play games from $40 to $200 buy in).

Thanks.

Default softness of games, choice & traffic

hi

I cant answer the first part of your question on blind structure & timing of blind move up for turbos on the sites - principly because I rarely play turbos as I find any of them at any sites by the nature of being turbos have too quick a move up on the blinds anyway ... I'd always take the standard timings at any site over whatever their turbo version (a personal thing but hope that makes sense.

but on your more general question on the best place to play at the limits you mention $40 - $200 buy-in SNG's ...

At Carbon Poker (while I highly recommend the site) the choice and traffic for their SnG's is low and their weaker area ... they are a smaller site but have very juicy cash games with players regularly playing stakes beyond their abilities, the MTT are getting better and offer good freerolls and some tasty overlay opportunities ... but for the sole SNG player you will struggle to get a game even at the lower buy-ins

At PKR Poker traffic is better across all games, I would say its design better suits SNG's & MTT's tournament play rather than cash games but the multitabling while possible is not the easiest to adapt to layout wise (it does get easier with practice but 2 would max would be my suggestion) - players are generally not that good at all limits both cash and tournament

Which leaves Hollywood Poker - which from the 3 choices you've put forward I think would be your best option from the info about your game needs etc ...

Hollywood Poker has very high traffic and is in the top 5 networks / sites for peak daily players ... you will have no problem getting lots of SNG's going / multitabling as they fill quickly and there are always more coming along ... they have a very good choice of bonuses to suit small and big players with a massive 100% up to $5000 bonus (check the requirements and pick the bonus you will realistically clear) - at $40-$200 buy-ins for the SNG's and multitabling I would think one of the bigger bonus offer they have would be good for you (guessing you have $2000++ bankroll in mind)

the software on Hollywood poker is a great favourite of mine as its the same as pokerroom software - they have been around along time and still the software looks good and runs well
and is ideal for multitabling ... they also have a good range of turbo's and formats

hope thats a help

cheers scrawnybob

Default thanks

Cheers Bob useful comments.

I think it sounds like I may have to try Hollywood poker in August/September (I will let you know how I get on).

I have just been on their site and the sign up bonus seems pretty good.

To get the $5000 bonus I have calulated I will need to rake $8000 over 60days which equates to on average 27 $50 SnGs or 13 $100 SnGs a day.
Not an easy task by any means, but achievable.

Re bankroll management, I usually just deposit the amount required for the sign up bonus ($500) and try to increase it to around $2000-3000 which i will normally use as on on-going roll. I normally play well below the 'advised' bankroll requirement but thats just because I prefer my money in my bank account earning interest and not the sites!

I understand your comments about playing standard SnGs - your ROI will be much greater, however in terms of win rate per hour and rakeback I think a good player can earn more playing turbo's, if of course he can cope with the variance.
Anyway I'm sure you have had a thread on this interesting topic in the past.

cheers

John

Default hope you went via our links ;-)

hi Jonny

hope you visited hollywood poker via our links ;-)

They track to which ever link tracking you came through first - so its important to go through our links if you want to support the site and running more forum tournaments etc

we're also working on something with them for members of the site who signup via our links - more info coming soon when I've sorted out the details but it should be a good added angle for our members / visitors who signup via our review

Default signup Hollywood Poker

When I sign up (not till August) I will use your link.

However, my only query is will I still be able to get rakeback?

When I normally register for a new site I do it through a rakeback affiliate so I get my 30%.

Default ongame network doesnot allow rakeback

hi

ongame network does not allow rakeback - so anyone offering it will be breaking the network and sites rules

also on a general note once someone has gone to the poker room wherever you came from / first tracked link is who will be tracked to

so if you've just typed in the url then its too late it will just get credited as a direct signup - sometimes the bonus codes will work but mostly not without going through our links first.

also I know there ways round things that rakeback affiliates use or instruct people to use but they are violating their agreements by doing so

if you want rakeback then I am sorting that side of things out - but only for sites that 100% allow it and 100% deal with it in house thus avoiding the low practices of some rakeback affiliates and sites who just re-cycle players

PM me if you like -

but generally discussing rakeback (if its not a site we offer it on) and alot of its rather unfair business practises of scalping players etc with new accounts etc is NOT encouraged on here - and certainly not recommending specific sites etc

cheers scrawnybob
