Default Badbeat consistancy

I have been sucked out a lot on pokerstars. People seem to always call pre flop or after the flop espciially when I am way ahead and somehow hit a bogus hand that I end up losing. I would like to know if you guys have noticed this more on certain sites than on others. It doesn't seem to happen to me as much on bodog as it does on pokerstars. And often at times on full tilt it happens.

Happens all the time in all the rooms, nothing to do with that.
Keep playing solid poker and your success will help to easy forget those hands.

I agree completely with Luzipher. For many of these players, freerolls are the forum they have chosen to start playing poker. Many simply don't think about percentages and probabilities, but just figure the best way to win is to keeping running after that flush or straight no matter the cost. There are those also that know better but play like donkeys anyway. But in the longrun, I don't think these people win much. It is also good practice to negotiate all types of players, as they can be present even at substantial buyins or in very large tourneys. Playing good poker and having patience will in the long run win you money.

i read a report that said that many online poker sites are rigged...that as you win a bunch of hands the 'good' hands that u were winning with lose their value, and are more likely to lose...the report suggested that after you have been winning for a while start playing lesser hands like they are big hands to avoid this

ive had this happen to me more times then i care to count. on the other hand i have made bad calls and sucked out something terrible!!!! i have also seen some bad beats in live play that put some of the online ones to shame. for example i saw one on you tube this morning involving pros at the final table of some tournament(i dont remember the details, i only point that out bc if you think thats rigged you should write a book, bc you are onto one hell of a scandal). the hand went with one having 10d Jd and the other having Qc Qd. the flop came 8d 9d Qs. both players check. the turn hits 9S giving player one the full house. she goes all in and he calls with his straight and flush draw. the river comes not only diamond but 7d giving him the straight flush and the pot. another example is just last night on the wsop event on espn hinkle went all in heads up with a slight chip lead on a bluff of 10 4. he gets called with A K. the flop comes 10 4 0 giving hinkle the full house and even worse the turn gave him the check with quad 10's!!!!! i guess my point is yes the sites could be rigged just like a casino could have a crooked dealer, but neither is very likely. so just take your losses on the chin and dont forget the last time you sucked out bc we all get lucky sometimes.

Isn't the same hand you described but is almost the same thing:

Default bad beats and suck outs

this has been one of my worst months ever. i haven't had a decent hand hold up and my chit hands win small pots. no luck whatsoever. i've never had such a dry spell. it sure takes the fun out of the game. it doesn't seem to matter what site i'm on-the flop hates me.

I'm in the other side of the coin. Was an excelent month for me. My bankroll grew up about 67,3% (is a small bankroll, but I'm happy with its grew up)

Default good cards bad cards good luck bad luck

hi

I dont think sites are rigged I think its just a case of a run of good / bad cards or good / bad luck

putting it down to one site or another isnt IMHO what its about

if you play 1000 hands then your likely to have a mix of good and bad - its just coincidence over a small sample of hands - maybe you get your 100 good mostly at one site and your mostly bad 100 hands at another and then add in a mix of good and bad luck across 1000 hands and any players is likely to feel like its down to the site

variance in players is a factor too - but one day or one site you might pick up on players moves better or control the limpers better etc etc

hope thats a help

cheers scrawnybob
