KK raise 4x pre- depending on ur chip count or really on ur opponents chips count
every1 plays it different but just value the cards enought to make any Ace rag fold
also depending ur position on the table, an if your playing with poker players not donkeyssss
that dont respect the value bet..

thats a tough flop for KK and everyone should dread an ace on the flop ...
because if you've raised preflop 4x BB its either
a) likely they have A- suited or similar and got the card they need
b) possible they had AA from the outset
c) making it easy for a good player to represent the ace(s) with a solid bluff putting you on a good but not good enough PP to call
d) making it easy for a bad player to represent the ace(s) with a terrible bluff or just play on regardless with nothing - but putting your stress levels high enough that you cave in
the problem is we all hate d) and particularly hate the idea of player d) robbing us not so much with a good bluff but more your own sense messing with you ... so alot will then call or play on because they fixate on d) and forget likely a) b) or c)
so it defianately depends - this is one of those cases where I would say alot of the time I would lay it down, but sometimes I wouldnt
that said there are a fair few occasions where I've (hopefully) convincingly represented the ace with a far worse pair / good draws etc "feeling" the other player had JJ, QQ or maybe KK
they all shrink when that pesky ace comes on the flop
sometimes its better to try to play small pot poker after the flop if you can - doesnt mean you wont win or loose but you then just turn it into another builder hand rather than making it a turning point hand
hope thats a help
cheers scrawnybob

i guess i dont have a specific way i play them, but i do have a sort of a rule of thumb i live by that might help you as it does me. if i get KK after i make a raise preflop and get called. the flop hits an ace. the way i keep my self out of trouble is to figure that my K's just LOST ALL VALUE!!!! so if you are going to try and knock someone off of A rag or something similar. i now pretend i have something as low as deuce 7, witch means fold right away or make a good bluff and hope for the best while being prepared to take a loss. so if you are at a point in the tourny where you cant afford to take a loss then just fold. the biggest mistake alot of people make is not knowing when to walk away. remember nothing, even AA, is unbeatable so if you feel you might be beat either push hard or get out the way and live to fight another hand. gl to you and may you hit a set on the flop next time you have KK, witch seems to make playing it a whole lot easier lol.
Hey folks,
how do you play pair of kings in tournaments??
Befor the flop i raise the hand....4x the BB or even more (after the blinds at 100/200)
and if someone is callin (A Q) and on the flop comes A 4 7 .....how do you play the hand then??
you bet ..or play it carefully (checking) ???
Like to hear some tips.
of course you dont know his hand on the play
My main tip would be dont overvalue your hand.
You are still open to be up against a set, flush draws, straights.
So whilst some will try take the pot straight after the flop, I will merely bet a half the pot at the very most ( dependant on how many are in and how the flop pans out ).
If I have to I will lay it down. Discretion being the better part of valour.
As I say, too many people overvalue KK and will call any raise, even go all in with it, and it can seriously damage you if you arent careful.
So whilst its a big hand, you have to remember KK isnt the biggest hand and the more people willing to call you, the less likely it is they will hold up...

In a nutshell, tread carefully..
You are right, people do get blind when the have pocket cowboys in their hand.
They play it obvious - unafraid, aggressive , trying to put as much money as possible in the pot. When someone calls they don't hold back, but unless you are playing with complete donkeys ... you are waiting for a miracle 3rd king to take this pot.
Let go of kings! and if it's deep stacked game, you can let go before the flop as well!
If someone raises ontop of your intial raise and you re raise him and he goes all in, it won't be with anything worse than your hand. What do you think it is? QQ? JJ? AKs? no way!
For the matter of fact, if you call you should pray for a split pot or a miracle 4-cards-on-board flush (without him having the A ofcurse).

Looks like you already got all the sound advice you need about playing them pocket cowboys. Doesnt seem like anything more for me to add except I think that your post of the way you would play them was great anyway
You should bet that flop 100% of the time. If you get called, probably fire a second barrel on the turn. If you get raised on the flop fold. BUt seriously enough with these posts asking how to play AA or KK. There are a lot of factors that would influence your descision (chip stacks, blinds, depth in tournament, VPIP/PFR of the villian ect) Just asking how to play a specific hand without this information is an excersize in futility imo
like most hands, it all depends on what position u are in, but for KK I personally have allways liked to either make a big raise or go all in, because someone will most likely call with a Ace and i would not like them to limp in preflop and see a ace on the flop, because that makes me sick.
