    Default people who chase

So what do you guys do against people who chase out these flush and straight draws?

You know you have the best hand on the flop but there are 2 diamonds out there... depending on my chip stack i either bet pot (depending the size of the pot) or more and for some reason they always call next card comes out it's a club and most of the time i'm pushing all in... in the end it's most of the time they hit it

I'm i playing this wrong?... should i push at the flop?... should i just get outta there to play another hand

Not a whole lot you can do. If I know there are chasers., I try to switch my game and play a little more conserative if I'm out-chipped. If I have enough chips, I'll risk a little more if I think I can read the chaser. My luck I can, but he'll still catch the 3 outer on the river... lol

    Thumbs up

I have to agree with Cuervo that there is not a whole lot you can do, BUT I believe you have to make them pay to see the turn and especially the river (their odds of catching are substantially reduced with one card to go) to build a pot for the times they dont hit. This should be profitable over time and hopefully, is not for your tournament life. It also depends greatly on the number of players in a hand.

There is a good article in CardPlayer that I read recently about raising draws for value (from the opposite perspective) and they provided this chart:

SO, as the person without the draw, you should do the OPPOSITE of this chart above. For example, if you have one or 2 opponents and you put the guy on just a straight or flush draw (8-9 outs) you would want to MAXIMIZE the pot! And alot of times when you have 2 callers on a flush draw, they both have those s, which reduces their outs significantly!

You can check out the whole article here:Card Player Magazine - Raising Draws for Value by Matthew Hilger - Card Player Magazine Article - CardPlayer.com

p.s. you can also see that if you dont have trips or a big pair. and you assume your opponent has over cards to go along with his draw (like the nut draw) , this will change your strategy. With 2 opponents in this situation (11-12 outs), MINIMIZE!

    Default Smart vs Dumb chaser

You can tell a smart player from a dumb one. Most smart player that are chasing are the one that is betting to see if he able to stop the betting action vs a dumb player is willing to call virtually anything. Betting dosen't make a difference if he looking get a hand, best thing to make him pay either way if he want to see the turn or river. Bet hard, just because a hand look good doesn't mean the person will alway get the drawing card.

i would say your playing it the right way, trying to get the most for your opponents draw, but the flush draws are way too tempting, i sometimes find myself calling all ins with them (only if im pot committed). so if im certain my opponent is chasing a straight or flush and they might call my all in bet in the turn i would bet a good amount (where i don't risk all my chips, and still have a decent amount left incase they do hit their draw), unless im short stacked, then ill just move all in.

    Default allin

If you are certain you have the best hand on the flop, like trips or two pair, then allin is the only certain way to discourage chasers, like me, from calling unless of course I have double your chip stack and then I'm going to call you all the way to the river, lol.

I don`t mind flush or straight chasers, even if they hit their draw and I lose a pot.
In the end these chasers will make me money, caus most hands out of 100 they won`t hit their draw and I`ll win the pot, esp. when they don`t hit it on the turn, the odds on the river are against them

If you're up against a known/noted chaser and it's just the two of you or even with a limper added in as well and you're holding a decent hand with a good stack, bet big enough to make him have to decide if he's willing to commit his stack on the turn bet.Leave him no room to have a stack for folding on the river and playing the next hand.In other words don't let him chase with betting only 10% -30% of his stack.Keep in mind that you only want to do this if the board shows he can only have a 4 card hand on the flop and turn.
