It really depends on the play at the table. If the people in the hand have been raising regularly with Q's K's and A's and you were the one that pushed the action, you are probably safe. A 1/2 pot bet will probably make them fold.

If there was a raise before your action be careful you know there is a good chance they may have hit one of the over cards. If you are first to act throw out a feeler bet.

If you are on the button, make a small raise, say 3xBB to try and drop out those 4-K crapp hands. If you are in a bad position, play as if you had low pocket pair. Then if there's one overcard on the flop and you are against 1 or 2 players, play as if you had hit the mid-pair. Raise and try to read what the others have. Avoid getting into 4+ player hands, unless you get a cheap flop. If there's a lot of action pre-flop before you, don't hesitate to fold.

pocket j's arent easy to play. as a queen king ace makes them susceptible to lose or bluff you out of the hand. really got to hope for right flop and then take it down

when i have JJ i make a mini allin with a 6BB and a CB until the Turn.

I fold the river if there is an over-bet.

Really? That's your strategy? Its not like baking cookies the OTHER CARDS ON THE TABLE MAKE A DIFFERENCE. lol

This is really just a prescription for giving away chips. GET YAH FREE CHIPS HERE. I'm sorry if I'm harsh, but I'm calling you out for spewing crap post. Come on brotha tell us what you think, and how you really play these cards.

Personally I like JJ. Its funny because the reason we fear JJ is because if we put out a raise pre-flop and it gets called, we are usually pretty sure the other player has one or two of the 3 cards above jacks. This is true because we living under the basic assumption (sometimes) that other players are playing "tight" poker. It is a matter of logic. If one of those cards hits we tend to be deflated and throw "reading" totally out the window either try and push them off of their cards oooooor fold.

I would suggest holding emotion at bay and considering JJ as a stronger hand than the traditional view. Be confident, play with confidence and fold when you know you're beat.

    Stix
