Is there ever a good time to fold pocket aces? I mean, deep into a tournament and you don't want to commit all your chips unless you KNOW you've got the hand won. Is that even a good reason to fold them?

I never win with em so I fold them regularly.
go all in preflop and then u might have a chance 9out 0f ten i lose with them
This is ludicrous.
It would be rare that you would consider folding AA preflop, BUT there are some situations that could warrant it.
Here's one (although most would think otherwise).
You're on the bubble of a sng (top 3 paid),
Chipstacks are:
C.L. - 5,500
you - 4,000
plyr.3 - 2,000
shrtstk - 500
(these amounts used just to illustrate point)
You are on big blind with AA... ChipLeader shoves allin preflop. Answer... 'fold'.
Obvious reasoning being, 4 out of 5 times we increase our chipstack and our odds of winning increase significantly but nearly as significantly if we were to lose the hand (approx. 1 of 5 x). This example is a poor one but I think you get the idea (ICM comes into play, where at times folding any 2 is the correct play but very tough to do).
Another time might be if you're playing a satellite, fairly low in chips, just off the bubble, and if you play the hand & lose, you're out and if you don't play it, you appear to be able to make it, pretty much for certain.
Aside from really situational stuff like this I have never witnessed an occassion where I'm wanting to fold AA preflop,.. instead I am looking for a way to get as many (or all in some cases) of my opponent's chips into the middle.
i dont always like my poket rockets i always afraid to be down against two pairs or more and think that my rockets will defeat every hand it always folded me whwn i got them and i try to think clearly and ignoring that its two aces and think that i just got over top pair!
It's almost never mathematically correct to fold AA pre-flop. The only one I can think of is a satellite where your probability of getting a seat if you simply fold any two - or maybe every two would be more appropriate wording - is higher than if you play your rockets, and where playing and losing hurts more than the benefit from playing and winning. For instance, if you have a huge stack and are 99% sure to qualify by folding everything.
I have folded them with 4 people all in ahead of me. I figured there were probably a couple pocket pairs and Ak Aq whatever. I figured at best 1 of my A's were burned at worst both. Pocket threes won the hand they hit trips and beat out the ak, aj, 88.
Folding AA preflop? I can only think of one situation off the top of my head... you're on the bubble of a tourney for which the payouts are the same from 1st place all the way down for a particular tourney. If 3-4 people get it all-in ahead of you, it's wiser not to risk all your chips where you're likely only 30-40% to win the hand against so many opponents.
Post flop, it all depends on the texture of the flop and the players. If there are 3 players in the pot with me and the flop comes 9dTdJd and I'm holding two black Aces, I'm probably going to just fold them out of turn.
If the flop is completely uncoordinated, your only real worry is about someone flopping a set and you need to just give them your money. You'll get it back when you flop a set on some other poor dude with an overpair, so be patient.
I use to be happy getting AA but now i just close my eyes and fold at least if their is a all in pre-flop. I lose with that had 85% of the time. Quite ridiculous.
