Default can you fold a AK ?

last night i lost 2 hands with AK but i'm all in before the flop its probably my mistake ...
i like this action ... all in

I can fold QQ pre, so AK is no problem at all to let go of for me since its only A high.

It all depends on the players, the action in front of me and so forth. Just because I can fold it pre, does not mean I will not shove pre with it though as I have many times, and will many more.

One thing to remember, shoving with AK is much much better than calling all in with it. I will almost never call all in pre flop with AK against a decent player.

I fold AK all the time and it's pretty rare that I would go all in with it.

I play AK too often...but it is soooo hard to fold it. I agree that calling with AK is bad, raising big is usually good. But I end up playing it more often than not.

I think Ak too great card if i fold! I raise with cards all.
MTT 5000$: final table we was just 4 i got AK on button! I fold why BB call all-in and UTG is reraise all-in! BB was KK, UTG was AA and won. AK fold yes this sitation i think!
I won this tournament on HeadsUp.

sorry, but I think if your folding qq pre flop, then your not confident enough to be playing at the level your at

sure, the other guy(s) may have KK or AA ...but its that unlikely

    think thats bad play imo

    WRONG!
If you are not prepared to fold QQ then don't play poker, or play it just for fun.
Is not about be confident or not, you are playing against another people, if you know enough about the other players you can and must (in some scenarios) fold QQ or even KK.

And I can give you a good example: I folded QQ in a tournament and finally I won it. The other player was holding KK when I folded my queens.

Remember that you are playing against a villain, not just two cards.

Of course there are another scenarios where you can even fold AA, like a satellite tournament with more than one ticket and playing the bubble if you have a good stack.

I have to agree with Luzipher, more tourneys are won by making the right fold than making the right call. There is no hand that is too good to fold. I recently folded KK when there were just too many callers to all in to make it worth the risk. If I had called I would have been out early instead I took 4th.

In another tourney I couldn't bring myself to fold AA despite 5 callers in front of me and being close to the money, cost myself a sure cash because I didn't have enough discipline and went out on the bubble.

Stop being a implied bucket man when your ahead. Stop being a ATM when your behind.

ok....queens passable.... but kings??? come on guys...

there is no reason to be folding kings, unless its the bubble and a loss means your out of the tourney - but that depends if the bubble is worth much, or if your there for the win

and as for aces -the only time i would fold aces on the bubble is if there were more than two opponents all in, and the bubble was worth some nice $$$

other than that, theres no good excuse for folding aces preflop, unless like i said its the bubble and the bubbles worth a lot of $$
