well, so much of a question like this has got so much to do with your reads of the other players.

But generally, aggression wins a lot, and 10 10 is the 5th strongest starting made hand.

So making a 3 to 4xBB from the SB should get at least 2 of the limpers and the BB to fold. Most people don't (usually)limp AA, KK, QQ, JJ (ok, a lot of folks limp JJ). Some limp AK, AQ, Aetc., but limpers are generally fishing for Cheap flops, so price them out by raising. The odds of BB having a higher pair are slim, but hey it happens, and pay attention if the BB calls or raises. As for the limpers, they are limpers, so expect Ax or KQ. Know your opponents.

But lets say you raised 4xBB and 2 limpers call. AK unsuited and AQ suited. you are 42% AK is 31% and AQ is 25% to win. well, then it is flop texture that comes into play, and YOUR table image. because u are first to act (SB) after the flop. Now if these limpers that called think you play anything, or a weak (because of what they saw u do earlier), do you continuation bet here? If you do (assuming the flop is dry), well, go see a donkey counseler. But if you have the table image of tight and right, a C-bet will usually win here. The point is if you are on, and have been on the same table for a while, U should know the other players styles and habits, and realize that they are reading your play also. Then, make your decision on how to play the 10 10

That same scenario, but you just got transferred to the table, I would definatly push and C-bet. Because it is a strong hand. The position is super weak, but aggression usually wins and raising 80 chip limpers with the biggest stack at the table is just good poker if you ask me.

Look, 10 10 is a strong hand. How you play it really depends on if you are LAG or TAG, or a Rock, a fish, a donkey, lol, but most people play 10 10 by pushing them. some just limp and hope for a set. I think that it is wrong in most cases with 10 10 to limp.

By the way, Mr. Ihavequestions, you sure ask a lot of questions. Heres one for you...what would you do with 10 10 ??

hehe, a lot of people see 10 10, and really don't know what to do.

You posted the 10 10 question, 21 people looked at your question, and only I answered. lol

Default Part 2

Well, I am fairly tight/aggressive - aggressive.

At the time it got to me there was about $450 in pot with antes, blinds, and limpers. I considered a 3x bet (240) but then people would need to call 160 for a chance at over 600 and every caller only gives better odds to the rest.

I had played very few hands and ALWAYS showed down a winner. I had voluntary money in the pot around 14%, pre-flop raises of 8%, and won money at showdown 100%.

I raised to 600, the BB pushed, and everyone else folded.

Ok, if you have him on bigger PP, you fold. Smalled PP you call.

I figured he was either smaller PP or two overs.

What would you do if you put him on two overs -- say AK offsuit or AQ offsuit?

well, that makes it basically a coin flip. 57% vs 43% for basically half of your stack.

One really never gets through any tournament without doing coinflips, and this is one where if you lose, you still can come back. I would put the BB all in here.

with 3 limpers already in,
I say the best play here is to limp,
hoping to hit a set, or a low flop.

I consider this a must raise situation. You don't want so many fools in the hand. limping tends to mean they have one of the 4 overs to your tens. The less facecards in the hand the better your chances of taking it down. Just my opinion... as there is no correct way to play any hand. Good luck. I know my breakdown seems simple, but you'll find often the most simple explanation is the best.

LombardiStix, U make sense. . I figure an important thing here is 1) if you, the SB, with the 1010, have been playing tight/rock, the 10/10 is a raise 2) the 3 limpers before ya, knowing what kind of limpers they are, makes a huge difference. 3 ) limping 10 10 is ok sometimes, but spewing another 80 chips for a 1 in 8 flop to get a 10 is just wishing, and u have the face cards problem as stix says, If the flop has any J and up, or 2 suits, and u at SB, limped, and there is no 10 on the flop, well, that is a check/and soon to be a fold. 1010 is so different than 22 33 44 55 66 77 88 even 99 in the SB. Also, limping takes away the C-bet if u wanna play aggression

you have a nice chipstack and blinds are very small, because there is no incentive to steal i am limping in this spot. if you hit or miss your descision making is easy. if you raise here and an over card hits you are playing a guessing game if he calls your continuation bet. everyone plays different so expect to see different answers. if i was playing tight and felt everyone would fold then i would try to take down this pot but its hard to answer a question without knowing everyones table image.
