Your opponent was pot committed and just couldn't lay down his hand i think.
Maybe this time you should have gone all-in pre-flop to push one of your opponent out of the hand.
Your isolation bet didn't work, probably due to the level of players involved in that tourney ($0.25 BI seems to attract a bench of unpredictable bad moves).

You didnt even have to say where the game was played, that is a typical PS hand,i wont play nothin on there unless its Aces,Kings Ace King,Ace Queen.(unless im in position obviously)these tactics seem to do me alright there.
but going back to your question, being pot commited with high trips is so hard to get out of,these kinds of folds are what seperates the seasoned pros from the(dare i say)amatuers.
Theres always another hand and game.

I doubt going all-in pre-flop would have made any difference. If your opponent is committing over half his chips pre-flop with AJ, then he's going to call an all-in bet as well. Just really bad luck. All you can do is make the right decision, which you obviously did in that scenario.

yeah, he calls off half his stacik with AJo, he is not folding the flop no matter what hits.
