What would you do? It is about the fourth hand of a 180-man 10-table tournament so no reads yet.

And I only played this hand because I am trying to expand my starting hands in certain situations. This was one of them low suited connectors in multi-way pot for cheap (<5x BB)

    Thanks!

I would fold as it very early on and as you say you are out of position, you know patience pays in the long run.

However it's an intresting hand to discuss possible options.

The bet suggests he missed the flop but had limped with a big pair or an ace with a big kicker. The caller would worry me as he is the one most likely to have hit a set or straight. How quick did he call the raise ?

I often see players limping or calling small raises with 78 pre flop. There's no logic to this but as they are middle cards they have out on both sides and in this hand they would make a straight so I would consider that a possible. A straight draw is high on my list of possible hands at this point along with a set. Flushes are discounted as it's a rainbow flop.

I'd never call here. If you make a good raise you would soon know where you stand but be prepared to fold to any re raise.

Had this been a 1 or 2$ SNG I would go for it but at 10$ there are less fish about.

Be instresting to see what others think and what actually happened.

    Regards
    Alan

I also went with the "it is early" theory and figured there was no reason to get reckless. I laid it down.

What if you knew that your two opponents were holding:

    6h 8d and Qc 7c ????

Yes you read that right, a raise and a call with those two hands.

The call I can understand as he has an up and down straight draw which is reasonable but not the other one.

What came on the turn and river ?. Would you have won ?

Wow now that looks like the Pokerstars hands i know and hate. lol Since it was so early(starting Blinds) it,s very possible to see hands like 6-8 and lower connected cards trying to hit something like you did.You were ahead as I suspected after the flop.If some-one flopped the str8 i think they would have bet more.So its str8 chasers to PUSH out or get out yourself.I agree with the , its early stragedy. If the blinds were larger I,d be more comfortable with the hand.

You've called out of position with bad cards and hit the flop
If that hand isnt big enough to fire at and see where you stand with so many still in the pot i dont think calling in the first place is such a good idea
