Default How do you play against people like this???

Ok, so I am definitely not claiming I played this hand well, BUT come one!?!?!?!?

I had limpers and no position, so I decided I would go for a steal. I have found that playing RUSH on FT, if you are not willing to bet out, you should be folding.

I had seen this BOZO a few times and he plays about every hand, he sits short stacked, and he pushes often post flop.

    REALLY!?!?!?!?!

    Any and all comments welcome.

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed)
    CO ($15.73)
    Button ($12.71)
    Hero (SB) ($25.10)
    BB ($19)
    UTG ($24.37)
    UTG+1 ($25)
    MP1 ($45.28)
    MP2 ($8.04)
    MP3 ($25.17)
Preflop: Hero is SB with K, 10
    3 folds, MP2 calls $0.25, 3 folds, Hero bets $1.25, 1 fold, MP2 calls $1
    Flop: ($2.75) 5, 8, Q (2 players)
    Hero bets $2, MP2 raises to $6.79 (All-In), Hero calls $4.79
    Turn: ($16.33) A (2 players, 1 all-in)
    River: ($16.33) 4 (2 players, 1 all-in)
    Total pot: $16.33 | Rake: $0.81
    Results:
Hero had K, 10 (high card, Ace).
    MP2 had 7, J (high card, Ace).
    Outcome: Hero won $15.52

i bet he has posted same question on another forum. I am confused u called ALLIN with k high....he put the pressure on u he had fold equity at that point u had nowt.

his play is strange mayb he reads ur raise then bet out as weak if he did so he hit the nail on the head with out taking into consideration u would call with nothing.

How to play against it u wait till u have big hand widen up ur range and let him bet all the way.

    out of the 2 of u i would say u played it worse.....sorry : (

I have tracked this guy while playing RUSH. He plays nearly 100% of the hands, and never folds pre-flop except to an ALL-IN. When he is at my table I almost always pre-flop with anything ressembling a hand hoping to get HEADS UP against him.

Basically, I would say his style is akin to Gus Hansen, completely unpredictable. On this particular hand, I knew he was short on chips, and had no business in the hand to begin with. His ALL IN in my opinion was a complete bluff and with the board it was hard to put him on any type of draw.

I figured my worst case was I had 6 outs which made me about a 3:1 dog, but I figured I was more of a 3:1 favorite (and I was right).

I understand why you say my play was bad (and I am not saying it was good), but to claim it was worse than his, is a stretch I think. I had him pinned exactly on garbage and called him and was a 3:1 favorite. If I folded to this clown every time he hit the flop hard, I would lose a ton.

Guess I figure sometimes, you have to swing back at the less than intelligent bully so I did.

Gosh what an embarassing hand to show us. I would have folded after he raised your $2 bet. The lady was on the table and usually 25% of the time they probably had the lady(Since I'm assuming no one does an all in without a face card). Even so, an Ace could flop later to beat your King. Fortunately, the dude did not have an Ace.

You were at the table and knew how he plays, so it looks like you made the right read. It helps that you had 3 times the amount of money he has. It makes playing maniacs a little easier. This is what I would call exasperating poker. Fortunately online, there are so many other tables to play. But sometimes I would not leave and just wait patiently, but for a better hand than what you called with. But you were seeing the junk that he was calling with, so it worked out this hand. So many times a dude like this is at the table and he gives like 3 or 4 dudes a nice amount of cash as people blow his nonsense out of the water. You can make more from this dude or 3 people at this table can make more from this dude in 20 minutes than you can playing at 4 other tables for four hours.

Your question was how do you play against players like this?

The answer is nothing like you did.

I understand why you raise KTo from the SB, but I prob would not do this myself although I would from the CO, BTN.

Your play on the flop was just really bad.

If you think he has not hit (which will only happen 2 out of 3 hands) then if you really want to play this hand then let him bet the flop and then you raise all in.
This way you have fold equity.

But calling the all in with just K high and no draws is not a good play and just because he had only J high does not justify your decision.

Players like these will normally not put their chips in with nothing - in this case he had a backdoor inside straight and flush draw (I know to us this means nothing but fish like these)

I think this hand illustrates a perfectly bad play by me when on one hand I let my emotions get the best of me. I was sure he had garbage, and luckily for me, I was correct. But as everyone has pointed out, this was a completely stupid call on my part (and I know it was too).

Maybe this thread should be re-titled "Just because you took down the pot and were never behind does not mean you played the hand well" Okay so maybe a tad long for a post title, but you know where I am going.

I just wish my luck with premium hands was this good LOL

    Default what a moron

just sounds like you were out to get him. i would be very cautious playing him, luck is usually on their side. you could lose it right back to him. i would challenge him to play hu and just sit back and wait for him to play into my nuts.
