Default Early in 9-man SnG, what do you do?

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 5.5 Tournament, 10/20 Blinds (9 handed)
    MP1 (t1160)
    MP2 (t1500)
    Hero (MP3) (t1540)
    CO (t1470)
    Button (t1470)
    SB (t1170)
    BB (t1500)
    UTG (t2210)
    UTG+1 (t1480)
    Hero's M: 51.33
    Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 4, A
    2 folds, MP1 bets t40, 1 fold, Hero calls t40, 4 folds
    Flop: (t110) 9, 3, A (2 players)
    MP1 bets t120, Hero calls t120
    Turn: (t350) K (2 players)
    MP1 checks,

Ok he didn't fire the second barrel, did he have KK, took shot at A, when I called put me on it and then slow played his KK? Or does he have something like TT, JJ, or QQ? I decide I have to stab at it.

    Hero bets t375, MP1 calls t375

Is his call weakness or strength? Neither of us have much left behind the line.

    River: (t1100) J (2 players)
    MP1 bets t625 (All-In)

    What do you do?

way to involved for Ace 4 as ur point shows u call a4 and hit an ace so u have to play confidently.....if not confident y play a tall pre-flop??? call for flush fair enough but if any agression is shown and u only have a i would ignore it and fold.

Is his call strength or weakness....he raised preflop all be it pointlessly he bet the flop and can only be putting u on a ace when u call......he then calls a pot size bet which is a huge chunk of his chips. U should have no chance of been ahead...i would say he has ak and checked turn as he was so confident or maybe he has a j and is more confident when j came OR mayb he hit set......Alot i know but in my opinion u have no chance of been ahead BUT as u have put so much in u have to call..........As stated b4 way to deep for a 4 if u turned out to win the hand then the player he a donkey

    What do you do?
    Fold preflop, end of hand.

not going to play A-4s in MP3 in a s&g, if decide to play it will be only if 2 or more limp before, if only one limp probably going to raise (if decide to play it), still have Co, Bt, sb, bb that can raise me even if every one limps and still will fold.

With min raise will fold or play just for a monster in flop or the flush draw, even hitting Ace i know will bring trouble like you get in to.

Villain could have A-K, A-Q, A-J, 33, 99 or any pp lower, could have diamonds draw and miss, or pretty much any hand, maybe K-J or 10-Q

Thats the problem with playing that kind of hand at this stage, too much trouble and put your game in line when blinds are still in 20.

I know one thing, he doesn't have AA,KK,QQ,JJ.
When u "took a stab at it" you should have thought what are u doing on the river if he calls. You don't beat anything here so just fold and play the remaining 1k chips. And do stuff like this in the future. it's 1st level of a sng, don't get involved with Ax

As you said, the mistake was just not walking away after the flop because of poor kicker and no 4 flush.

i was going to fold if he shot second barrel on turn and when he didn't I should have fired bigger if I thought that was weakness (once again I should have already been on to next hand).

Anyways, I decide since it is so early, I am not going to limp around at 625 or so and really curious what he had since I played so poorly.

    I called his river bet.

    He flipped up QQ.

Another great example of playing horrible and being rewarded. *sigh*

I post quite a few hands I lost whether it be at showdown or by me folding.

I am sure there are others as well. A couple of changes I have tried to make over the past year from feedback here includes:

    1) broaden range of opening hands. i was going deep often but never had stack to do anything.
    2) better and more blind steals.
    3) play button a lot more aggressively. i had not been taking true advantage of it.

Right now two things I am trying to learn and possibly why the hands I am posting.

    A) i have a leak that is not costing me a lot right now and i need to shut it down before it does, and it is winning hands like the last half dozen or so i have posted. broader opening range (good thing for me) but not knowing when to lay it down. most of these winning hands are embarrassing to post, but do two things: i) make me own up to the poor play and get additional advice on it, ii) help other forum readers see these mistakes and learn from them.

This is my shining moment of idioticy:
    http://www.4kingpoker.com/forum/poke...ople-like.html

    B) better understanding of ranges and when to just push for +EV in MTTs

About the comment on posting only winning hands, at least for me do not see any problem if ND post only winning hands or not, the end of hand do not matter much, at the end is just one hand, the importance of posting hands is to see mistakes/errors that we and other players make to can improve.

    About the hand.

Not really, Villain play badly too and was not rewarded, player that makes less mistakes wins (most of the time).

Raising 2bb with QQ in early position was bad, he could not know nothing about your hand with that raise, i wonder, if he raise 4-5bb you still call him in this scenario?, that could take him out of trouble, at least if you call a bigger raise he could let down the hand easy in flop or turn, wich i think was big mistake keep playing the hand after ace and king come, wich was great for you.

Congrats on winning the hand, how you ended in this S&G?

Hopely the ending donīt encourage you to get in this kind of trouble very often.
