Multi-Tasking
I used to multi-table - 4 at a time - when I was grinding out bonuses, but I don't do it so much nowadays.
You've really got to play ABC poker and not try and be too cute - you haven't got the time or the opportunity to get good reads on your opponents.
Going back to just one table after playing four seems a bit tedious. The time between hands seems like forever.
I've heard tales of some players running up to 24 tables at a time. I'm not sure it's really poker, but if you can do it and turn a profit, why not?

as we all know, first rule of multitabling is to watch when you have your screens overlapping. you should always make sure that your check, raise, fold buttons are not overlapping because of the dreaded misclick. it may seem to some that multitabling can be difficult but it can actually keep you more alert and keep yourself from playing average hands or playing hands out of position.

Did my first multi-table thing during FT's Take 2 Promo. I was surprised how difficult it was to concentrate on the two tables. Certainly agree with take it easy and play straightforward if learning multi-tabling.

Multi-tabling is not my cup of tea, but I did do it during the ftp promo and 2 tables wasn't too bad. Still prefer one. Makes it easier to take notes and really follow the play.
Hate when faced with a big raise and have no idea how the player plays. That doesn't happen when single-tabling unless the player just came to the table.

I've tried playing 4 tables at once a few times without any real success. Trouble is fitting them on my screen as I don't like to make each one too small. Need to win more to buy a couple of graphics cards and monitors and multitable over multi screens.

I'm not a big fan of multi tabling as I lose the feel of the tables. Two is OK but 3 or more is just too busy for me to be successful. I usually get to the final table at one and can't concentrate due to other tables jumping up or the tables are too small and I miss a flush or st8. I admire those who can play 4 or more tables and be successful.

It depends on what I'm playing. Oddly enough, for SNG's (STT) I usually only play 1 table at a time (sometimes 2... but never more than 2),..BUT for MTT play I will sometimes play up to 6 or 7 tournaments at the same time (not always intentional... if I'm running deeper in early ones I started, they will begin to overlap with other ones happening later on... I would never start 7 at once). I seem to do okay when playing 6tables in MTT's but for sure do better on 4 or fewer (although lately I've noticed I have a better mindset when playing at least 3 of them,...my head goes real fast and seems to thrive on it).
I never 'overlap' my tables... ever! I will tile them every time. Even on a 15" laptop screen I will tile 6-8 tables (you get used to the small tables after awhile). I have a couple of screens but usually just use one of them as I find it more distracting playing 6games spread across two monitors as opposed to just having them all on the same screen.
For 6maxNL I will play 3-4 tables sometimes '5'...but mostlyl with the intention of dropping two or three of them once I determine which ones will most likely be more profitable or which ones are more ideal for me to be playing on.
FullRing I will play 5-6 tables as I'm pretty much nitting it up there (I don't play FR much anymore).
Many like to multitable the SNG's (STT) but I've never had any success with that.Brad Booth - > "Like a fight... it's not how you start, it's how you finish"

Two is my limit. If I play more I can't keep up. Only playing one table is sometimes boring when players take so long to make their play. If I manage to get to the final table on one, I have to sit out on the other, though.

that is an excellent article, bob. I find the biggest factor for me is the size of my screen. I can play 4 comfortably. Unless any of them are merge network. I find merge to be difficult to read and need the table size bigger. I emailed support about this, just making the box with amounts and names 1/8 inch bigger would help. they said to get a bigger screen!!
