excellent post sb. I agree, u covered all the bases with that. I might add, if u are not c-betting at the right times, u are a weak player.

Havent read post YET, but will say, I agree if you are not using C-bet you are losing a lot of value. However, I find C-bets work best with good position. Tieing the two together and playing strong tight aggressive poker can really be a deadly combo for your opponents.

yep, position speaks big. but so does board texture.

also, gotta have a read on ur opponents cards and who they are. as in what is their card range? then the board texture must make sense (most times) for a c-bet. unless you want to try the I have a high pair c-bet, which never works unless ur pre-flop was pretty big.

Another thing to go deeper on is c-betting the turn and flop. I see a lot of flop c bet attempts there, then a whimper on the turn or river. to me it's a tell that the player is inexperienced.

c-bets can be made with air or strong hands, are conditional on your pre-flop bet, with or without a flop that helps. throw in position, and who u are c-betting against, and each c-bet can become in exersize in poker reality.

I play limit normally, so naturally, YMMV, but I almost always c-bet. I do not like to avoid c-betting when I preflop raise, regardless of whether or not. If I have to get out on the turn, then so be it. In limit, the c-bet is often the only real defence against chasers. At the very least, you make people build up the pot for the privilege of running you down.

When playing NL, I like to c-bet half the pot. Obviously, the dynamics are different in NL and there have been times where I have been bitten by that, but overall, I still like to c-bet.

Its a good article.I read it somewhere before.I think you have to know your players and there range of betting hands. The flop is all important. If its a very low flop and he didn,t bet too much pre-flop you can put him on A-Q A-J or A-10.He didn,t hit the 2-5-7 flop or he has a small pair.A re-small re-raise here should give the info you need.

Does anyone know the quote about c-betting that goes something like "The first bullet you fire is in your foot the second some where else..."

I know that is really vague, but if you know it I think you'll just know it? lol

I would like to know how high do you usually c-bet a flop you missed guys?
Do you choose to overbet the flop like x1 to x2 the pot or bet low like under 1/2 the pot. I know it will tend to change depending on situations but i'd like to have your input there.
My own view is that betting 1/3 of the pot or even only the big blind usually works well as it shows strength and offering odds as the same time for your opponents to get lost in the hand.
    What's yours and why?

I think I agree with you in most situations a 1/3 bet works to get you the same information. The overbet is only used for me when theres a funny board out there. I'll put up a big bet to indicate I am "protecting" my big hand. But in most situations I think you go with the 1/3-1/2 pot bet less risk and looks like you want callers? Idk my poker head is spinnin right now.
