There are times in a tournament when players will have a dramatic pause before they act. Now sometimes its to delay the number of times they have to post blinds and they are just trying to get to the money with as little damage to their stack as possible. I want to hear your thoughts on the other pauses though. Sometimes, in early pos., after the flop, they will pause and then check. IMO, almost always these players want to see another card but don't to put much in for it. Usually a draw or 2 over cards, they think the pause will make others think they are considering betting but decided to "slow play". I've found almost always someone will bet after that. The other is the one who waits till the last second and bets or reraises big. These usually scare me because I think they are trying to pretend they are thinking about it (i.e. they are not super strong) when in reality they are hoping you call. Do you think people are using reverse psychology and know thats how I'll think and using it to their advantage or am I reading these pauses acurately. I know every situation is different and I don't have any specific examples, if I come across one playing in near future I'll post a specific example.

. I just joined last month so I didn't see that thread. Sorry for the repeat and thievery (if thats a word).

) i would probably take same amount of time for each hands, in MTTs, only to disturb opponents and let them imagine whatever they think about my hand. For other reasons, i would probably random my delay in ring games, as the time as not the same value in cash-games.
