So I decided to try Sportsbook Poker (merge network). I am not going to deposit and see if I can build a bankroll.

    Start June 2010: $0.00
    July 29, 2010: $3.00

I'm trying to do the same on bodog and carbon. Actually, I'm always trying to do this, just so happens I won 2 funstep 3's on carbon ($2) and $6 in $500 fr on bodog. I like to try to set small goal to reach my total goal (go from 0 to 10000). First $50 is always hard, having to play the micro games, lots of ups and downs. I had both up to $30, now carbon down to 12, bodog still 30. My first step is getting em both to 100. I be looking for an update from you, maybe we'll see who can get to 100 first. Looking forward to seeing your august update!

I've had some decent success with this in the past (Doyles from zero to ~$400 & Carbon 0 > $550).

I don't think I could go through it again though. With Doyles I got lucky early on & cashed in a couple of freerolls and they used to have 10cent sng's which I played quite a few of.

Always hard starting from 0. Most of my rolls came from playing in forum freerolls to start, built it up slowly that way then started playing forum buyins. Winning a few leagues helped too.

I've had success before also, 0 - >1000 on carbon. I've wrote this before, I think it made me too over confident. My bankroll management was awful (overconfidence) and once I started to drop, I kept chasin all the money I lost while gettin badbeat to death. 1000 - 0 was a lot easier than the 0 - 1000. Hopefully I can get it there again and have learned my lesson. Good Luck ND

Hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread ND, but I havent seen an update so ...
I have my bodog acc't up to 65, seem to do well in the $3 turbo sit n go's. Used to like the beginner ones but I kinda like the reg sit n go's now. I play some low buyin MTT's occasionally, hoping to get lucky and jump over 100 in one shot. Carbon, I was almost busted until I hit an incredible lucky streak during 4K tourney. My preflop allin A Q out drew K K. PO min raised his A A on my BB and I just called to see a flop with my J 5o. J 5 on the flop made that a nice hand (for me). Anyway, a few bad beats later (my play was flawless, so it wasn't my fault) I was back down to 6 bucks and frustrated so I played a $5 sit n go (yes I've read about BRM) and won, so back up to 25. Hope to have them both up over 100 by end of the month.

Acutally you had J5soooooooted in the BB.
THe 'minraise' was standard fare at that blind level (although perhaps 2.2-2.3x but was lazy.). Usually with blinds that high in relation to stack sizes, it's a 3bet/fold game.

I never said you misplayed it, I just happened to get lucky defending my blind. I'm not going to reraise with J 5 but getting 4 to 1 was worth seeing a flop for me. Like I said, I had a pretty good lucky streak in the tourney, which in my opinion is how most tournaments are won. Skill gets you close more consistently, but eventually with the blinds getting higher you usually need some luck also.
