Default How stupid could i be?

I played the 1000$ Blackmoonpoker.com Freeroll on Betsonpoker.
Only 102 Player registert. You read right 102 Player, 1000$ Freeroll !!!!
    Top 15 paid, 15th earn 20$. Im 6th under last 17.
AK in the BB. Blinds are 200/400, my chipstack about 10K.
1 call, I raise to 2000 he calls. Flop came AJ6. He bet 1200. I had the feeling he had AJ.
I call him, a 2 on River. We both check. 8 on the Turn. He set me allin.
From the first Moment i saw the Flop i had the feeling he had two pair.
So what am i doing? (Idiot like me)
I call, he had A 2 two pair and im out 17th.
    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I dreamed from this Hand i think.
So try to learn from that, so you dont make this mistake.

Its amazing how often your gut instinct is right. I have a real problem in that area as well. I see that beautiful hand in front of me, I know the other guy is holding something better, and yet I call...

Personally I think 'letting the hand go' would be a mistake here in this spot. I mean do you seriously put villain on A2 as part of their range here?
Also, we only have 25bb's before the hand.
I actually might consider checking the flop while OOP for pot control 'but' also because if villain doesn't hold an Ace then I'm winning sfa... whereas I check flop & if they check behind, I'm much more likely to be getting paid off by all the other hands he'd likely have in his range (ie. weak broadways hitting 1pr. hands on turn, sm & med. pp's that weak playes are often still only limp/calling with preflop in late stages (instead of raising)). I think we actually might get more value by checking flop & cbetting turn instead.... 'although', I mean if I'm raising over a limper here I'm going to be firing a cbet on a flop like this near 100% of the time with all of my 'air hands'.. so really, you should probably just go ahead & cbet.
And fishy villain just happens to have one of the few hands that is ahead of us. I say 'gg'... & 'nh' (by you that is). I'm never folding here in this spot. If you're the type of player who is likely folding here... then I strongly suggest finding another game to play in besides tournaments.

Feel bad for that hand. Yep, we can learn experiences on our own or from others.

Some do not want the $20, some want the top 3 or it was a waste of their time. This would have put you in the top 3 if the hand woulda went your way. I am way more interested in being in the money before trying to win the game. This same type of play will win you some and lose you some in the future.

Derail alert. Yesterday played live at Lucky Chances where blinds are 1 on the button 1 in sb and 2 in bb and to "limp" you have to go at least 4 bucks. I open to 12 midposition and the bb calls headsup flop is 558 I call their donkbet of 10 bucks. Turn is another 8 I call their 15. River is a 9, they bet 25 into a pot of 68 (6 rake, lol yes that large) and I hero call with kingten. They tap the table and say nice call, I say I hope so and am waiting a few seconds for them to toss their hand to the muck but they hang on to it so I turn over my king high and they are like really lol that's what you called me with as they show their q high busted flushdraw. I say yeah sir my new year's resolution is not get bluffed and to call people down. He laughs and says don't go anywhere. Max buyin is 200 and I cashed out 1400 while they guy got felted and switched tables.

How stupid could I be? I put him on air all the way, leaning towards 67 until the river would make a straight, then I thought well they could have a counterfeited pocket pair like 22 33 44. Also, the bet was less than half the pot. A fine line between genius and stupidity.

Like I read somewhere (yea, I read alot, lol) you can't win a tournament in one hand, but you sure can lose it... Saying that, I would have had a hard time getting away from that hand myself....Take care

You didn't specify in what position your opponent was - he was either in the small blind or had position on you, and this is important when deciding what to do on the flop, especially since you raised pre-flop.
Considering the position you were standing in the tourney, IF he had position, might you either make a C-bet or check-raise on the flop with top pair, top kicker - this way you might have a better idea where you stand in the hand.

And an all-in bet on the river should have set the bells ringing.

A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.
