Default PokerHeaven - What is this site like??

Can someone who regularly plays at this site please give me a small review of this site.. Whats the graphics like? What is the level of players like? Is it easy to make money there? What type of ewallets can be used there?

Any information on this site b4 i download and maybe make an account will be helpfull, its the thoughts of the players that i want to hear and not someone who has been paid to review the site

Default Pokerheaven review

hi

ok so I know you asked for a player review rather than my player / webmaster review ... so I'm sure there are several members who have and do play at PokerHeaven who have either signed up via our links or already were there ... so they can also help you

but for what it's worth here is our review of PokerHeaven

BTW I / 4kingpoker do NOT get paid to review sites ... if I dont like them or I dont think they have some merit for a player then I dont review them ... trust me I turn down or ignore a lot of affiliate deals / offers from sites wanting us to promote them ... and if sites go downhill or develop issues (as some have that others prefer to ignore - I amend my reviews and rankings accordingly)

see more info on all that later in post

Anyway in terms of the site in addition to my review ... PokerHeaven is on the Boss / IPN network with Virgin Poker and others. The Boss IPN network has the 8th largest player traffic but is not open to US players ... in terms of traffic and games it has come on really well in the last couple of years. I originally started recommending the site I think around 18mths ago, traffic was lower then but the standard of the players was not high so there was potentially good money to be made ... this is still the case, but now with more players which are still generally equally weak

PokerHeaven players (Boss Networkd players generally) seem IMHO to fall into generally loose passive players ie. they are not anywhere so loose aggressive as other easy win sites like Bodog or Pacific. PokerHeaven seems to have more scared money players than gambling players if that makes sense.

Graphics - Personally I like them and I also find the pot 1/4 1/2 3/4 pot bet buttons a real help as it speeds up the game and you can make roughly the sort of bets you want to without typing in all the time. Although the deposit / bonus currency is in euros they have cash games in several different currencies including $$'s

We have run some league tournaments there and it's a very popular site with our visitor's obviously mostly European players - but I know some members play PokerHeaven and Virgin (same network)

We have also got access to an additional affiliate signup only weekly 200 euro freeroll for all our members who signup via our links.

more about our reviews and how all sites / forums work

we have over 50 sites ... some are the obvious ones, some are less obvious, all the sites / networks have been played at and reviewed by me personally and I know most of the networks and sites pretty well in terms of what sites are with who etc etc

The ranking of the rooms (although its in need of a freshen up) is based on how I view the site as a player + how good the player bonus offer we have is ...

In other words I totally 100% rate / review from MY PLAYER perspective having looked at and played sites on all the main networks

I DO NOT review or rank sites based on how much (or how little) commission I may eventually get if someone signs up and then maybe plays for real money

I DO NOT look for the highest paying sites and then rank them highly (some sites may) or reduce the choice of sites down to only offer a couple of sites on a one site fits all basis ... because I know that I sometimes like sites that others dont and also many players like sites that I dont particularly - but if they have merits that I can see for many players or a certain thing some might look for then I'll review it and offer it.

So yes I do get paid a commission by the poker rooms ... that is something that absolutely all of the poker content sites / poker forums do (even if they tell you they dont ... 99.999% do earn money for their efforts one way or another) -

Some sites do this on a very well paid advertising / space deal - so would effectively promote any site - the slots going to the highest bidder not necessarily the best site for the player.

but for us revenue isnt based on just reviewing them - we get nothing for that, we do like all the others get a commission when players sign up via our links (well thats the time when we get credited with introducing them but we only get a bit of commission if our signups decide to play real money

Now I dont hide that fact - other sites will ... but it really isnt rocket science who is going to invest alot of money, time and effort (effectively a full time job) and work for free ?

Signing up via our links rather than direct to a poker room will not cost players anything but in alot of cases we get our signups an increased bonus (or at the very least an equal one)

I am only influenced by either how popular a room genuinely is by players or by what that room is prepared to offer our players or by how much potential I think a room offers players.

hope thats a help

cheers scrawnybob

Hi Welshy,

I only play pokerheaven a little, but I play Virgin Poker everyday at the moment as it's the same network I can comment on the game play if nothing else.

The software is OK, maybe a little basic (there are no fancy smilely faces) but it's straight forward. There are usually plenty of players about in games but you don't get thousands and thousands in like at pokerstars. On Virgin they have just added a €50 and €100 Guarantee low buy in game, I'm not sure if this is an exclusive Virgin game or if it across the boss network though. I love this game it's so easy to win money in

I deposited €20 and it's now up to €200 from playing tournaments, haven't played the cash games because they are hard to get into at the times of day I play, I don't have the patience to sit waiting to get in the game.

There are plenty of players waiting to throw their chips to you, but you do have to get over the odd eyewatering suck out though.

Hope that helps a bit

Default more on "player reviews" & "website reviews"

hi

sorry just to add ...

"player reviews"

I have considered adding pages connected to my reviews of sites for "players" to add their reviews but there are several reasons why we have not ... primarily because it opens it up to so many donk players / bad beat / rigged this and that type posts which are not really any help or very realistic (they play one or two sites, have very little knowledge of the whole industry and would moan they lost at just about any site ... because they dont play that well)

we have however got sections for individual sites / networks in the forum (where we're posting now) so you may find some existing feedback here already

but as I said - bear in mind negative posts are always likely to be higher for any site ... as those doing well are more likely to keep playing than posting and those with a "negative experience" just need to vent ... somewhere

"webmaster / player reviews"

As I mentioned earlier - I try to review all our recommended sites from a player perspective, that isn't just from my personal playing experience (although I have played all of them) ...

If I really dont like the site much or cant see that other types of player would like the site then I write-off that time trying them out and move on without putting a review up

I try to get in the head of the typical player and also think who would xyz site really appeal to ...

whilst also putting in any negatives that an otherwise good or interesting site may have.

eg.

I love PKR 110%, more so for tournaments but I enjoy playing cash games there too, but 3D poker is not for everyone, some may find it slower (I love the pace there), some are US players so cant play, some might want an instant bonus, some might like pro's at the table etc etc

I think Full Tilt is OK, but personally it's not my favourite site, I prefer medium size sites and it's the 2nd largest site online ... But obviously a very very high percentage of player really like it alot and mainly for the size and choice of games & because its open to US.

Of all the "2d" sites one of my favourites has to be Carbon Poker by a long way I think it has the best software and interface - I just find the games are very easy to win, the graphics are spot on for playing several tables etc and while the traffic is not massive personally it suits me well. Now other players who like Full Tilt for its size probably think it's too quiet etc

and the list of pro's and con's could go on for all the sites I've reviewed

So I guess in short I'm saying that there is so much choice and so much variation on what players look for in a site - I try to offer as much good choice as I can in the reviews ... as honestly as possible

I honestly think that players get better info as a result of having sites like ours inline, otherwise everyone would have to read between all the sites own PR and promo to find out if they like it ... at the end of the day when trying sites - thats what freerolls are there for to see if you like a site and if it's for you.

And having played alot of sites "reviewers" are more able to balance one site against another ... some of the player reviews are really only based on one site and either winning or losing which doesnt really help anyone

hope thats a help

cheers scrawnybob

Talking Not a Bad site BUT:-

The third party banking system is rubbish Why:-

1. If you open or close a poker account with the same system, its tells you, you already have an account, so you try to put money in and it says you cant because "this account is already alocated to a diffrent poker account"

2. You telephone the third party bank up to sort it out and no one can coherently work out how to sort it out.

3. You think emailing them my be a better option guess again they dont do efficent email that is if you get an answer, because your email is guess what "All ready" allocated to a diffrent account.

4. If you can not put money in how do you play, Well I havnt worked that one out yet, so

5. you see a rep from them at a tourny and advise them about there system and guess what go back to number 1, do not pass go, do not collect $200 and yes you are better off playing some thing else.

6. go to Carbon Poker open a neteller account and play poker its less AGGRO

Regards

Gypsy

Default Poker Heaven Review

ScrawnyBob's review of Poker Heaven is spot on.

I opened an account last month and have been impressed.

I play mainly SnG games, and I like the short handed turbo games (3min levels), lots of players who do not understand basic SnG strategy.

I have turned a €300 deposit into €2,500 in less than a month

Software is not a major issue for me but I like the PH software (especially the auto bet 1/2, 3/4, POT buttons).

Traffic is reasonable (SnG games will fill up within minutes at most times of the day).

and cleared the deposit bonus (100% match) but I'm not sure about ongoing monthly bonuses - does anyone know what these are?

Depositing and withdrawing is easy - I'm from UK and you can use a debit card for both - very easy (from what I can gather they dont stiff you too much on the exchange rate from € to £).

Have not played too many cash or MTTs yet, so can't comment.

So far so good - all in all a good site.
