I built $1000 play to $3m, but when I switched to real, my game had to change.

Like someone said on here, it's Bingo when you deal with play money. People don't have anything to lose, so they're play differently.

I know I play differently when it's real money. I have to school myself to play the same and not play too tight because it's "real" money.

nofearnever - Try posting a few more and getting on a team here. Then you could pick up some very valuable insight on how to play in "Real Money" games. There are some very good players here, so try and take advantage and better your game.

Play money aint shit! Though I do so wish it was real money, becuase at the four different fake money sites I play/played at, I've raked 10s of millions. It's quite ridiculous when I think about it.

My first real money account was at Full Tilt 5-6 years ago I think. I had a bank account back then and a real job, but my first deposit was like $50 bucks. I lost it within an hour. I wasnt hip to Freerolls back then, didnt even know they existed and I just didnt know anything about online poker. So after about $600 later, I decided to play for fake monies.

Aww man I tore it up. Like I said, Tens of millions at several different places. I'am not gonna lie and say I didnt reload like a Nazi in WW2, cuase I did. But after a while, never touched the buttons again. Play money gets boring after winning at it so much, and its so very easy to tilt also. But its absolutely 100% different play then real money.

Its like someone playing a war game on playstation. They're ranked top ten in the world, play for 100s of hours a week and "OWN" everyone. But throw that skinny little mamas boy in for a swim with some real soldiers, and its GAME OVER.

Generally this is the same for Poker. Be a railbird for a while and watch some real money games online or at your local Indian Casino. You will learn just as many have.

That doesnt go to say you wont benefit at all from play poker, becuase you will. You'll learn good hand and move combinations, opponents playing styles and a basic understanding of the game in a nutshell.

As some1 no doubt has alredy stated the game is OBVIOUSLY completely different when it counts u have probably got used to playing hands that are strong when not playing for real.....but then when u play for cash u will OVERPLAY the same stupid hands and probably play like a fish.

Every time u change ur stake u have to adjust.... hands that work well at 3 dollar wont work so well at 6 dollar and so on... u have to learn the value of every hand at the appropriate stake....no where would that gap be BIGGER than from play money to real

in play money games the players play for fun and play every or almmost any hand and if you are les loose then them you win

in real money games you wil have the other player les or more tight so its harder to win
    its normal,just plain logic

    greetings
