Pokerstars disconnect problems Oct.4th
I'm in a tournament on Pokerstars at the moment and many players on the table are experiencing ALOT of disconnects and apparently it's been happening all over the site.
Here I was registered for a handful of MTTs on Stars today, hoping to play the Daily$30K, the $20Kguar.($11), the $3rebuy($40Kguar), and the nightly $70K($55) - - a big day for me on Stars!!! Well...luckily I missed reg. in one of the early ones (12:00 << early for me, lol) and began experiencing problems in one I entered at 13:30 so I was able to unreg. from the rest.
It's been a bit of a bummer still... as I'm sitting fairly nicely in a deepstack tourney but am hesitant to get involved in hands preflop that I would normally want to be entering the pot with (it's 'deepstack' play). So.. instead I'm now playing it as if we were on shorter stacks.. (ie. 3-bet shoving instead of 3-bet raising in pos., lol).. so far.. so good. fingers crossed. I want my buyin back at the very minimum.Brad Booth - > "Like a fight... it's not how you start, it's how you finish"

So I wrote to Pokerstars support, asking them what they were going to do about the day of disconnects and that I'd really appreciate some Tournament Tickets. (incidentally.. Fulltilt had rewarded me nicely before in the past and when disconnected in a Tournament they did an ICM chop which with ~75 players left, ended up giving me prize money equivalent to placing in 15th which was ok with me in a largefiled tournament).
Stars gets back to me 4days later (of course they were super busy..think of all the emails they must've received), telling me that I would get nothing lol. I had been fortunate in that tournament and with 4 players left while being a 2to1 chip leader on deepstacks (still had ~80-90bb's) I offered up a chop to which the other players accepted. (the disconnect had knocked me down to 9th of 9, so the final surge was pretty cool but would've liked to have played it out except I didn't feel confident that the site wouldn't screw up some more).
Still with all the disconnects that day (I'd guess I was off the table for ~30mins. in total by the end of that tourney), I felt that Pokerstars could at least try to make it up to their customers by giving them some cheapo Tournament tickets.... but no such luck. Bad business imo... .and I've always thought Stars was pretty good that way. I mean what would a couple of tickets to the Sun 1/4mill donkament be to them?
Anyone else receive any compensation from Stars???Brad Booth - > "Like a fight... it's not how you start, it's how you finish"
