Pokerstars strategy??
We all admit that newbies flock to PS far more than other sites. Therefore, shouldn't we modify our play (marginal-to-good players)?? I have done MUCH better playing tight and goig all-in with super solid starting hands in ANY position. Call me crazy, but the opposite is true when playing fishy newbies. For example you're playing a 3.30 45-player SNG and are dealt QQ. Logic tells you that you make a double pot raise, maybe triple pot raise, slightly more for some of you. Fine. Guess what? Donkboy two seats down has 4-9 suited and figures...why not? He plops in the bet and the flop comes 2-4-9. Guess what - you lose 99% of the time. However, you go ALL-IN pre-flop and odds are better to get him to fold. Basic raising no longer works at Pokerstars. Now, I am talking about SNG's and MTT's. I do not play ring games. I have been bad-beated too many times over the past 6-12 months to make any money PLAYING A TIGHT BY THE BOOK GAME!!! Screw the pot raise - I think going all-in is the only play. It won't work all the time, but it will knock out more donks along the way and give you a decent chance at the pot. Of course, when you win the hand, the chip increase is worth it.
Opinions???

My strategy at Pokerstars is rapidly becoming "Don't play at Pokerstars" especially in the low limit SNG's and MTT's. My latest downfall was in a SNG close to the bubble, pushing with AJ, getting called by JTo, and losing when a ten came on the river (from domination to damnation again). I basically play the same way on Fulltilt and Lock Poker and am having moderate success on both those sites (even with the odd 'bad beat'), but my bankroll just goes down and down on Pokerstars. If and once my minimal funds run out I will only play with my points and the odd game freerolls - Razz, Badugi, 8-game, 2-7 triple draw - at least I find these games interesting and more fun to play.

A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.

I used my strategy last night in a 25-cent 90 player SNG and it did work well. Although, at midnight I was at the final table and very tired, but I did finish 6th after playing for 4 hours. Mental note: no more NON-turbo tournaments....TOOOO LONG. But, getting back to the strategy, in any position, if I had a PREMIUM hand I went all-in and until my final all-in with A-Q, did very well.
