Whiny thread about Pokerstars (not a rigged thread!)

I decided we’re long overdue for a whiny thread about my favorite site "Pokerstars" so here we go.

Pokerstars decided to address the issue of short-stackers, which I thought was wonderful ‘cause I’m not a big fan of ‘em. They change the format of the buy-in for the ring tables making some of them 20-50BB, 40-100BB and finally the juicy 100-250BB+"ante". Seemed like a good/fun idea at the time (and here’s where I get whiny).

I’m playing Omaha Hi, not Hold ‘em. U.S. evenings have always seemed pretty poor as far as number of players for Omaha, mainly just the same hardcore grinders that play all day on every table, even before the change you’d be lucky to see 5 tables going at each stake. After the change all I seem to find is 5 20/50BB tables and I stay away from the 20-50 because they’re just a Lagfest, not my idea of fun. Bottom line there is not enough Omaha players to accommodate the 3 different buy-ins format so I’m going to go out on a limb and say I don’t like the new change. I would of much rather seen them just make the blinds 40/100 but I guess I’m the minority.
Having said that European evenings are great, plenty of players and the new format works but if I’m working I’m screwed or I’m restricted to playing weekends.

My opinion, Pokerstars should of just followed Full Tilt’s lead instead of trying to one up them.

i have previously whined already on this point but will again

scoop event 7 h/u 100.000usd guaranteed

obviously they never got a perfect amount of players so majority got a buy to the next round.....tourney started at 10.00 pm uk i finally started my game at 11:10 pm.......RIDICULOUS u cannot do h/u in this format .

Also they even had a satelite still running after the event had started so they were GUARANTEED a buy into the next round..........IF u cant do it a fair way then dont feppin do it at all.

What is the difference between getting a "bye" (not buy) to the next round at 11:10 and playing the 1st round and then starting the next round at 11:10?
Was it too late? Awwww. U can add 3 hours and get my time.
And I also played #8, which started a 3 AM my time and played until 10am. Do I complain? no. Why? BeCause it's common sense to look at what time tourney stars and approximate how long it will last. It like when ur gas line is in the red, you ignore it, and when the car stops you say "why the fk didn't they put bigger tanks on these stupid cars.. it's unacceptable!!"
10PM is 3pm ET. They can't put tourneys earlier because 80% of the filed are americans and they won't be able to play before that hence they won't be able to put such masive guarantees. They can't satisfy 24 time zones in one tourney

and finally the juicy 100-250BB+rake.

And limey, you should def start tables. When you start a ses, don't join any of those tables unless there is some big fish, otherwise sit a few 100-250 empty tables and start them up. I guarantee you it will be profitable

1.IS IT RIGHT TO WAIT 70 MINUTES AFTER START TIME TO PLAY A GAME???

2.IS IT RIGHT THAT PLAYERS ARE BEEN KNOCKED OUT IN ROUND 1 YET A SATTELITE IS STILL RUNING WHEN TOURNEY STARTS HENCE A PLAYER/S QUALIFYING THROUGH THE SATELITE ARE AUTOMATICALLY EXLCUDED FROM ENTERING ROUND 1 (obviously making there 16.50 entry fee worth more instantly)

lmao are you clueless? Have you never played a HU shootout before?? That is how it works. you get a bye, you wait. the larger the filed , the more you wait. There were 11366 people. There is no way you can/should be paired with an opp until current round finishes. fwiw I wasn't as lucky as you and I didn't get a bye. I lost in the 1st round to stupid fish. My guess is you didn't go further than round 2, that's why u're so pissed you waited 1 hour.

Also, I'm pretty sure those people in the sat. got the 16.5$ credited to their accounts. How do you know they were put in the tourney?

Do u think it is fair to get knocked in round 1 then watch a qualifier who had o percent chance of playing in that round seating for round2.

U have 2 options
1 - yes (which would make u ridiculous)
2 - no (which would mean u agree with me but pointlessly disagree for the sake of seemingly belittling a valid point) ....

That must have been because you got a bye. That's how heads up works, since byes aren't awarded after round 1 they have to get down to the correct number of players (must be powers of 2).

For example, if you have 140 players, the field must reduced to 128 in the first round, so 116 get byes and 24 players play round 1.
