lol, do you mean a home game at his house? or just a privat game at a poker room?
I think this would need some more info to attract anyone
cheers snowfish
I'm thinking he's referring to a "home" game at stars. It's a new feature they have.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Pokerstars is using this new idea of Home Poker Games for online poker to trick the search engines and get Pokerstars better ranked in a category they should not even be in. Typical marketing ploy by big business to squeeze out legitimate competition.
Congrats to Pokerstars for helping make the Internet fugly
Sorry.. not interested in playing the HomeGame... but tks for asking.
Personally I think the "HomeGame" thing at Stars is an excellent marketting strategy (I personally know just a TON of folks here in town who'd probably be very interested in playing a game with their friends & what an excellent oppurtunity to play a 'HomeGame' on Stars. Even playing for 'play money' could be good (I believe the playmoney games would actually be decent to play because there actually would be something at stake (either 'sidebets'... or 'bragging rights'). Pretty sure that alot of folks (after getting a taste for it) would be hooked in no time at all.
It's like the 'refer a friend' program but only better >> they have to reach out to 8 friends to get a game going in order for them to be able to qualify for the Bonus Freeroll.
I'm not sure what structures they have available for Tournaments... would be interested to hear about it.
Would be cool to hear about anyone who's run a HomeGame on Stars & if they could share their experience here with us.

As far as I'm aware you can pretty much make any kind of game you want but the blind level structures are set by pokerstars structures. You can also have ring games etc on the go and as Orifice mentioned play money.
I think this is a great idea especially for people who are in a forum or group of players and want to have a weekly league etc one idea I had was to have a league with a set buy in and so much being set aside each week by each player to go to the winner of that league.
It's definately a great feature imo and encourages some sportmanship between players and of course to be able to make friends on a site where you rarely meet the same players. Also marketing wise they have thought of about the only thing nobody else has on their site.
Hi,
I have set up a home game at 8:30pm GMT on Wednesdays. I have called it the 'Scottish Poker League' thinking I could get a few scottish players together but not had much (any) interest yet so anyone welcome, Scots or otherwise! I think the idea of keeping an ongoing league is the coolest bit about these 'home games' on Stars.
Buy-in 10GBP +1, 10 minute blinds, 2000 starting chips, obviously happy to tweak structure if folk want.

Go on!
Cheers
I am involved in 4 of those home poker clubs and honestly to me it seems like overkill with all the other forum private games going and then the reg site tournies. So unless you are a member of only 1 or 2 poker forums then you really shouldn't have much trouble finding a game, i know i don't![]()

I have only one "problem" with this. If my actual friends are online, I talk to them via AIM or similar. The ones who play poker are better than the fish I find at the low stakes where I play. A table made up of my friends who play online poker is a murderers' row compared to what I see on the nickel and dime tables. Why in the world would I play against (fairly) strong players when I can find fish anywhere?
