let me break this down for you real and simple

You think your a good poker player, read some books, watched video's, read different articles on the net and maybe even had some poker training from a better player. The time and effort you have put in, feeling like you should be rewarded for it...

Poker is a game of variance, bad hands win, bad beats happen.
The numbers don't lie, if it can happen, it will happen in the game of poker.

Now, your (disgruntledone) biggest mistake is level of thinking.

My guess is your a level 3 (can put your opponent on a hand) but the problem is your opponents are level 1 thinkers, and they only know what they see infront of them. When you playing poker you can only play 1 level ahead of your opponent or else you will find yourself playing yourself, and you will always come out as a loser in the long run.

The next mistake is playing $0.02 No Limit Hold'em Tournaments
first hand of the tournament it folds around to you and then limp from the small blind with garbage? Then bet bottom pair? Then push all-in with out the nuts or a made hand.

"THIS STUFF HAPPENS" is why I play poker and make money.
Because good players take advantage of good players when they make mistakes.

you don't have to play perfect to be a profitable player,
but you do have to limit your mistakes to break even.

I know it was a mistake..I am testing some theories about POKERSTARS in the lowest level tournies..what I am trying to say is that the cards come in a certain way in Pokerstars as to absolutely maximize the action....Why is it that in heads up situations preflop....both players hit and sometimes quite hard??? TWo pairs on that board is a big hand unless you really put your opponent on a flopped set..which in this case I did not.. I knew my two pair was good after the turn...absolutely...
anyways thanks for the response...I continue to learn

Do you think you are the first to come on here with all this?

    You are not

You aren't even the 10th or the 100th, this kind of post plagues poker forums everywhere. Most delete them straight away, some move them to the loony bin

But when it comes down to it we are all poker players of one skill level or another on here, I think it's fair to say most of us have played or do play at Pokerstars. I think it's also fair to say most of us think you are talking bollocks Have a nice day

So you've played terribly in a game where most of the players have ZERO clue (or could care less) & because a couple of hands out of a zillion turn out poorly for you (after playing them even worse), your conclusion is > Pokerstars is a sham????????????
buy a book, read it, buy another, read it, read them both again. Learn how to play... 'gg'

Just reading your name on here 'disgruntled' tells me alot. "IF" you want to be open-minded & truly learn this game, there is plenty of oppurtunity for that on this forum. It's your choice... you decide.

Not showing the action of the first hand also speaks volumes. (me thinks there's a reason you haven't shown it.... my guess.. 'you slowplayed it...thinking you were bein' tricky & probably even raised on the river & then called a reraise allin on a paired board). Why are you playing QXs in the first place? (if you showed then action of the hand & stated a reason for playing it... maybe it'd be ok... but I kinda doubt it).
On a more positive note. As I mentioned in prior post > "IF" you really want to learn how to play this game, keep an open-mind & STUDY, STUDY, STUDY.. ask questions, post hands in their entirety, explain your reasons for betting, then STUDY, STUDY, STUDY, review some more, & STUDY some more. You'll be on the right track. There is oppurtunity here to get better (if you're interested).
Know this > most players who are relatively new to the game & who 'think' they are good players, usually aren't good players. I am no exception to this.

    You won't learn anything, because
players will play bad at lower levels, ie:

For both of the players involved to see and know that both players hit the flop hard, it would have to go to a showdown. Yes sometimes 2 players in a hand hit a flop, that is just the luck of the draw. The odds and probabilities says it has a better chance then wining the lottery, but you don't want to win the lottery either.

It's math, you have understand and learn poker probabilities

Yes 2 pair is a big hand, but at that level $0.02 buyin (and higher) people will call on draws, people will have a better hand, people will out river you. By going all-in on the first hand with out the nuts, you are telling yourself... you are not good enough to OUT PLAY your opponents. A push and shove poker does not take skill and it is not wining poker.

    opportunity doesn't knock everyday,
and the most enjoyable part of playing poker, is learning poker.

Default Any paired board offers a Full House

    hi

its really important to remember (epecially when you think you've hit the nut flush or made a decent flush)

ANY paired board offers a Full House possibiliy

thats any single pair on the board

you might make your flush but if someone is sat with a pocket pair and the board pairs they have 2 pair and if they've already hit their pair and made trips then they have a FH

I know that sounds really obvious but its very often missed - you get excited making a straight or a flush ...

you figure you have the "best" straight or the better end of a flush and think your good to go ...

check for pairs on the board because if there is one then trips making a FH is possible

if there are two pairs then its very very possible / likely someone has a Full House

then you need to start playing that hand back through your head to piece it back together and arrive at a conclusion

particularly if there is king, ace or pictures on the board which pair on the river as people will tend to hang in longer

    cheers SB

very good advice, oh great one!

I often fail to realise the full house danger in my enthusiasm until too late...

i will be watching the board with a hawkeye now...

if i get to stay in long enough for him to show his winning hand and find i'd have won with my grotty straight/flush, i'll be back to see ya
