love the avatar ozboy, anyway, when you say ring games do you mean cash games? different games require different strategies, try switching up your game if its not working, if your aggessive, try playing tight or vice versus, just keep trying new things until you find the game that works for you, there is no magic formula for playing every game the same way

Some peopel play differently at ring and in tournament. FOr example you just have chips in a tournament, and with real money, there is the dollar sign attached. I play better in tournys.

Default too aggressive / not aggressive enough

    hi

yep gypsies helpful suggestion - if we can see some hand histories on the cash game front it might help figure out if your playing too aggressively / not agressively enough

or if you just got unlucky

alot of tournament players tend to go into cash games without enough bankroll - which makes it more painful when you bust out and loose your max buy-in at one table but then dont feel comfortable sticking with it

others will play too agressively - trying to force a play (like you would at certain stages of a tournament) this is entirely pointless in a cash game as the blinds dont go up and a big win in the first 5 minutes is monetarily the same as a big win 2 hours in

hope thats helpful and gives you a couple of ideas where the hole might be in your game

    cheers scrawnybob

Also I would like to add maybe your just a tourney and SNG player...so stick to tourneys maybe??? Unless you really want to try to dominate cash games, and become a great all-around player.Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks is all. Some people are tourney specialists and only play those and vice versa
