last night i decided to sit at a cash table. i only play the microstakes, and it was 1/2 cent omaha hi pl for me at the time. i was up and down, not really doing much, but it was fun. 30 minutes in, i'm dealt A10 clubs, 10x os. it is microstakes so i raise to 8 cents utg, with 3 callers, all around 5 dollars in chips. flop is J86, with J6 of clubs. i raise 6 cents, and am reraised to the pot, which is about 60 cents at this point. i think, whatever, i've got some draws; let's gamble. the turn is a 10, giving me trips. i think, well now i've got the best hand probably, as there's only me and one other player and i don't think he would raise with a gutshot draw. i raise pot, he calls. river is a 6, giving me a full house, and he raises pot. i push all in to call and he shows q9xx..nothing else going for him..so i collect a 7 dollar pot. he instantly buys back enough to be max for the table (5 dollars), and starts to raise pot every hand preflop. 4 hands or so later, i decided to call with Ace hi, double suited with 56 connectors. i flop up and down and reraise his measily raise to get him to back off. he calls slowly and the turn gives me the low straight, the nuts at the moment. he raises a dollar, i reraise 3 dollars and say not to go on tilt over microstakes. he calls. the river is an 8, (the turn was an 8 as well), i raise all in for 3 more dollars and he calls, showing trip 8s and nothing else. i collect a 10 dollar pot from this i believe.
i left that table with 17 dollars :]
i started that table with 1 dollar.
