News broke last night that 80-year old poker legend Amarillo Slim was robbed and assaulted in his hometown of Amarillo, Texas.

He had a rough decade. He got carjacked as well, not to mention the scandal involving his granddaughter, which cost him his working relationship with the WinStar casino (though they are a rip-off anyway). It'd be nice to see Slim have one more deep run in a major tournament.

This is really sad news - f'n degenerates assualting & robbing an old man. I think it's pathetic. They should be put in population in prison & let the inmates deal with them.

That is pathetic.He still won the World Series of Pokers and is a hall of famer and quite a character.No matter the problems and allegations in his past he doesn,t deserve that kind of treatment.He should have moved away long ago.Sounds like he may have made a few too many enemies.Be nice to play again.
