Tom Dwan aka durrrr. Durrrr is Dwans Full tilt screen name, which is what made him famous and most people know him better as Drrrr than Dwan because of this. LOL I do like you explanation though.
OK about the 10's you must remember this is heads up not a full table, the odds preflop of pocket tens winning vs a unknown hand are just short of 75%, the fact that Hellmuth B***hed about it means nothing he knew Dwan played them well and the fact that Hellmuth had one of only 4 starting hands that had better odds than he is just bad luck. Any HU player will tell you that any pair is a very very strong starting hand Hu and will 99% of the time be more than happy to get as much money in as possible preflop with a pair as high as tens. Still say Hellmuth had Ak like you said, tens are still a favorite to ak off 56.55% vs the Ako 43.14%. people love to use the coinflip phrase but the is a clear advantage with the pair, and suited ak give like another 3% odds to the AK.
Now Hellmuth had the best hand we all know that win or lose but what I am saying is you can't blame Dwan for the super aggressive play with tens in a head up match. That is very standard play.
Another thing to look at before making judgments based on what the tv edits out, and you have to know that a lot of hands get edited out and players like hansen and Dwan get those nuts hands played on the air, not the hand they mucked big hands on good reads. Stats for Durrrr
durrrr -Full Tilt Poker
earnings - $4,542,742 -------- same as Phil Ivey.
hands played - 175,393
And he is way down the last few months Oct. 7th was his career high just short of 10 million.
