crazy advice ?
Deception is good in poker. Being readable is bad.
The guys with neon signs over their heads blinking away have a tough time getting paid off.
So, I have nothing critical to say about the specific strategic components of deception that have been put forward.
Rather, my concerns are about deployment of this advice, about when it is useful and when it may not be, about whether it should be tempered based on who's sitting around the table with you, and whether following it can actually cost you in the long run.
Mix your game up by mixing your game up.
Make the occasional surprise raise UTG with 7-5 suited.
Reraise in late position with 9-8 every once in a while.
Push a missed flop by firing two barrels to neutralize someone trying the "float play" on you.
This will be sufficient to make your game appear mysterious and you hard to read. Avoid "fancy play syndrome."
Go for "tight-aggressive with a twist".

i have to agree with u mucks i love to switch gears in the middle of a tourney but it also helps when u have a lot of chips or have a commanding chip lead because then u come off as a reckless person and that helps u alot as well but never is it good to play LD poker

some players are good at deception, some aren't
if you aren't good at deception, try to find a playing style that suits your personality
and doesn't get hurt by deceptive players. Don't get involved with players who are able
to fool you, basically.
there are two polar opposite types of people, logical/mathematical people, and
deceptive people. If you're a math type you just have to realize that some players
are trying to mislead you, and take mathematical counter-measures to protect yourself.

I agree you don,t want to become too predictable. But on the other hand you don,t want to try these platys too often either. Then no-one will ever fold when you really are bluffing.Showing a different starting hand range of cards is good however.Like if you do play a 6-7 and hit it.Otherwise no-one will ever see it.
